Gretchen Reydams-Schils

Research Interests

Reydams-Schils specializes in the traditions of Platonism and Stoicism. Her publications include Demiurge and Providence, Stoic and Platonist Readings of Plato's Timaeus (Brepols, 1999); The Roman Stoics: Self, Responsibility, and Affection (University of Chicago Press, 2005); and Calcidius on Plato's Timaeus: Greek Philosophy, Latin Reception, and Christian Contexts (Cambridge University Press, 2020). She is the editor of Plato's Timaeus as Cultural Icon (Notre Dame 2003); Thinking Through Excerpts: Studies on Stobaeus (Brepols, 2011); and Pouvoir et puissances chez Philon d'Alexandrie (Brepols 2016).
