Emma is a second year PhD student in Dr.Jennifer Tank's Aquatic Ecology Laboratory in the Biology Department. She is interested in understanding how agricultural activities and conservation methods impact water quality of downstream ecosystems. She is currently focused on the fate and transport of Antibiotic Resistance Genes within streams. After working in science policy in D.C. for two years before attending graduate school, Emma is involved with the Science Policy Initiative on campus, and regularly has an art booth at local farmers markets.
