Amaryllis Adey

Biography

Amaryllis Adey is a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences working with Dr. Gary Lamberti. Her research is focused on the conservation of freshwater ecosystems, with special interest in community ecology, food web ecology, and ecosystem threats (e.g. invasive species, contaminants, and climate change). More broadly, she is interested in how humans impact aquatic environments and how conservation and management strategies can reduce these impacts. The goal of her research is to provide managers and policy makers with knowledge and potential solutions to threats to aquatic ecosystems. Amaryllis earned a B.S. in Aquatic and Fishery Sciences from the University of Washington in 2017 and an M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences from the University of Illinois in 2019.
