How to use Tome of Want in Destiny 2: Heresy?

Tome of Want represents the principal way of obtaining different rewards in Destiny 2: Heresy, and maximizing it will help you get closer to your dream build in the latest episode.

The new system will be music to the ears of those who hated the grind system of the Revenant Episode. Back then, we had the Tonic system, which was awful to describe in one word. It confused me every time when I looked at it, and the ratio of resources to rewards was plain unfair. The Tome of Want system is a noticeable improvement, and here’s how you can utilize it to get drops from the Heretic Arsenal.

How does the Tome of Want work in Destiny 2: Heresy

The principal job of the Tome of Want is to help users get the rewards that they want. It will allow you to zero down on the type of equipment you want after completing certain activities. With the Tome of Want, you’ll be able to spend Heresy resources to perform rituals that will reward you with new weapons of your choice.

In many ways, it’s an extension of our beloved Engram Focusing method, but with certain extra steps. To perform a ritual, you’ll need Essence of Desire. This item drops from all kinds of Heresy activities, and you’ll need plenty of it to perform the rituals.

The Tome of Want has two main parts: Ritual Rites and Tome Engravings. Ritual Rites is the main deciding factor behind what type of rewards you’ll get. Tome Engravings work pretty much like Volatile Tonics whenever it’s gathering power.

Once you complete a ritual, you’ll get up to three copies of the same rewards. The rewards will depend on three different factors:

• Scriptures: This marks the broad reward categories.
• Crumbling Scriptures: This will help you to refine the reward type.
• Ritual of Desire: This is the energy that lets you conduct the Ritual.

If you’re using blue-rarity scriptures, you can use them without any limits. If you’re using Legendary Scriptures or above, they will be consumed once you use them. The best types of rewards will be obtained from Exotic Scriptures, but they’re pretty hard to get in the first place.

How to get rewards with Tome of Want

The first task is to fill the Tome with the required Ritual Power. You can do this by completing different episodes and playlists, defeating all kinds of enemies in Heresy activities, and more. Once you’ve enough Ritual Power, it will consume one charge and provide you with a reward. Every active Ritual will have 3 charges, and you can re-do the entire process once all of them are exhausted.

Make sure that you choose your reward categories carefully to maximize your loot potential. It’s not mandatory to mention the Crumbling Scripture category, but the two other factors will help you zero down on the loot you get.

The Tome of Want also allows you to switch between Rituals. Still, I will avoid doing so as your already-selected Scriptures and other relevant resources will be simply wasted. Overall, it’s a really neat system that will allow you to have far greater control over what rewards you get after completing the different Episodic quests in Destiny 2: Heresy.
