Description

The accepted applicant will participate in developing the new undergraduate Program in Health, Humanities, and Society, will engage in service and mentorship of students, will teach one course per semester and develop their teaching portfolio, will help with planning and organizing Center events, and will also engage in their own research and writing and make satisfactory progress towards publication goals. The postdoctoral scholar will be assisted in developing new professional skills and starting or continuing a research program with mentorship from the senior faculty and faculty development resources. Salary: $55,000, plus benefits and a $5,000 research fund.

Qualifications

Expertise in all areas of history or sociology of medicine are welcome, including perspectives on reasoning in biomedicine, public health, midwifery, and/or nursing; approaches within science and technology studies of medicine; examinations of non-western forms of healing; scholarship on disability studies; the nature of basic medical sciences (pathology, etiology, nosology, epidemiology); or analysis of clinical sciences of diagnosis, therapeutics, and regimen.

Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. within three years prior to the date of appointment.
