Ethics Of Grace

Join Angela Carpenter (Hope College), Gilbert Meilaender (Valparaiso University), and Jean Porter (Notre Dame) for a conversation celebrating the release of The Ethics of Grace: Engaging Gerald McKenny (T&T Clark).

The work of Gerald McKenny, Walter Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, spans the last quarter century and has made a singular contribution to the field of Christian ethics. With teaching and research ranging from biotechnology to the theology of Karl Barth, McKenny’s scholarly work raises profound questions and provides crucial responses to the current state and future of bioethics and Protestant moral thought. His scholarship has set a trajectory for applied Christian ethics and Protestant/Reformed ethics in conversation with secular humanism and Catholic moral theology.

Professor McKenny will offer concluding remarks, and the event will be followed by a reception. This event is free and open to the public; no RSVP required.

Cosponsored by the Department of Theology and the John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values
