From Whom the Bells Tolls mission has to be one of the most chore-heavy questlines as you complete one mundane task after another. Hauling the sack to the charcoal shed will be the first objective, and we're here to show you how to complete it in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

KCD2 Haul sacks to the charcoal shed quest guide

When it's time to haul the sacks to Trosky Castle, the guard will tell you to put them into a mysterious charcoal shed. Unfortunately, the game doesn't really tell you where this location is, so you may end up walking around aimlessly like I did. If you aren't sure where to go, pick up the sack and walk to the entrance to the wagon's right.

Travel up this hill until you reach the shed on the left side. Due to Henry's slow walking speed, it'll be slightly tedious to perform. I definitely know the struggle, and I almost fell asleep with the sluggish movements.

Once you've reached the shed, place the sack on the wooden board inside. You must deliver three sacks in total to complete this optional quest in From Whom the Bells Tolls. Even though it's considered optional, it's pretty crucial to do it for the main objective of saving Sir Hans. It'll unlock the blacksmith in Trosky Castle, paving the way for the rest of the mission. You'll have to complete many more chores after this, but luckily, there is a way to make the process go by faster. Read below to find out how.

How to save Sir Hans quickly in From Whom the Bells Tolls quest

You can complete the remainder of the From the Bells Tolls mission in a few different ways. I've seen some players use the route with the Chamberlain, but others (including myself) have trouble persuading him. The only one that worked for me was the pathway that Reddit user XxBluesShadowxX used, which seems to be the quickest method. Here are the steps you can take to complete the From the Bells Tolls quest quickly in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2:

  1. Speak to the blacksmith and tell him, "I'll help you with anything!"
  2. Go to the Smithy and interact with the chest to the right to get the resources for the horseshoe recipe
  3. Rob or interact with the red pot near there to get a free lockpick (you can talk to the Cook Fanka and the blacksmith if you don't want to get caught robbing)
  4. Craft the Farmer's horseshoe at the Smithy and talk to the blacksmith when you're done
  5. Give the horseshoe to Kabat
  6. Ask Kabat, "What did you do before?" then talk about acquiring a tool
  7. Instead of buying the lockpicks, ask if you can do something in exchange
  8. Accept to help him get the rosemary back from Father Nicodemus (you don't have to actually get the rosemary, but it's still crucial to accept it)
  9. Talk to Father Nicodemus to play dice for the rosemary (again, you don't need to play for it, but it's essential to know that he has the rosemary)
  10. Tell Jarek (the man kneeling next to the Smithy) that Father Nicodemus stole the rosemary and follow him to get to Thomas
  11. Go back downstairs and steal some food from the pantry on the way down
  12. Return to the Smithy and take right to go up the stairs
  13. Bribe the guard there with the food you've stolen
  14. Sneak up the stairs and go all the way to the top
  15. Talk to Katherine inside the room on the right and ask her for help (it's okay if you fail to persuade her)
  16. Wait for her to leave and grab the Physicians' Journal to learn how to make the Fever Tonic recipe
  17. Use the lockpick on the chest there to gather the ingrdients
  18. Make the Fever Tonic at the alchemy table (I will discuss this more below)
  19. Return to Thomas to give him the Fever tonic

Getting the lockpick from the red pot should be one of your first steps. Since you can get caught robbing it, I suggest talking to the Cook Fanka and then the blacksmith to get free access to it.

Free lockpick location in Trosky Castle
Screenshot by Destructoid

Save the lockpick for later, and then work your way to Jarek through Kabat's rosemary mini-quest. You can complete the sub-task of helping Cook Fanka and Kabat if you want, but remember that this quest has a time limit. The main focus here will be Jarek, who will be kneeling near the Smithy.

Jarek at Trosky Castle
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once you get Father Nicodemus to confess about the stolen rosemary, you can tell Jarek about it to get you to Thomas. Keep note of Thomas' location since you'll need to return here shortly. This part will let you roam this particular building without the guard's watchful eyes, but you'll need to do a bit of sneaking when stealing the food.

Use this food to trick a guard in the upstairs room near the Smithy. Take the stairs to find him.

Now, sneak up the stairs where the guard used to be and go up to the top. You'll eventually find a door there with Katherine inside. Ask her for help to get her out of the room. I failed to persuade her, but she didn't bother to tell any guards about Henry's whereabouts. Now, you can finally take the Physician's Journal from the bookcase and loot the chest for Thomas' Fever Tonic potion.

From Whom the Bells Fever Tonic recipe

If you aren't sure how to make the Fever Tonic recipe in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, follow these steps:

  1. Add three handfuls of Feverfew
  2. Put the cauldron down and boil the Feverfew for two turns (use the bellows to make it boil)
  3. Put the cauldron back up
  4. Grind one handful of Elderberry Leaves and place in the cauldron
  5. Add two handfuls of Ginger
  6. Distill the potion
  7. Use a phial to make the potion

Even if you happen to mess up a few times with the potion, the From the Bells Tolls quest doesn't penalize you for it. I made two mistakes of boiling it for too long and forgetting to distill, and it still worked. Then, you can finally give the potion to Thomas to trigger a cutscene, thus concluding this Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 quest. Once it's over, ensure to get one of the best horses from Hired Hand Kabat. The Lion's Crest is also near Trosky Castle if you want a new gear set.

The dangers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's world poses a huge threat to Henry, especially if you're walking on foot. That's why it's crucial to have trusty steed at your side to ease the stress of travel. We'll show you the best horse in KCD2 to set you up for success.

KCD2's best horse and location

Since every steed has advantages and disadvantages, it's hard to pick one choice for the best horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While some excel in stamina, others cater more towards capacity, so it all depends on what you prefer. To cover both the Trosky and Kuttenberg regions, here's a list of the best horses and what they excel in:

Best For Horse Name Where to Get
Best early game horse Pebbles Semine Horse Trader in Trosky
Best free horse Herring Complete the From Whom the Bells Tolls quest. Talk to Lord von Bergow and the Hired Hand Kabat to receive the horse for free.
Best horse in Trosky Bronka Von Bergow's ambushed men POI near Semine
Best for stamina and speed Kincsem Purchase from Groom Hanniker trader in Kuttenberg
Best capacity and courage Erdel Purchase from Groom Hashtalin in Maleshov (Kuttenburg)

The best horses in the game primarily reside in the second map, the Kuttenberg region, which can take a while to unlock. Luckily, there are still a few steeds in the starter Trosky region, with the old reliable Pebbles and the mysterious Herring. Although Pebbles' stats aren't that great initially, you'll see her worth the more you upgrade her over time. Plus, this horse is a nice callback to the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance story as one of the free steeds.

Unlike the other horses on this list, the Herring is one of the only free horses in KCD2. It'll be a part of the From Whom the Bells Tolls quest after you find a way to get into the wedding. If you're looking for another horse in Trosky, you can steal Bronka in Von Bergow's ambushed men POI to the right of Semine.

Considering that it'll be a stolen horse, you must go to the Nomad Camp, towards the left side of Semine. Speak to Horse handler Mikolai to claim ownership of Herring.

Use any of these horses to work your way to the second map. Then, you can buy the speedster Kincsem in the heart of Kuttenberg or high capacity Erdel in Maleshov. Keep in mind that there isn't an exact price for each steed since you can haggle the traders for a lower purchase. Depending on how the haggling goes, they usually go for 2,000 to 4,000 Groschen. Affording those prices will certainly be difficult, and you can check out our guide on how to make Groschen fast for money tips.

All best horse stats in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If you're curious about the stats of these best horses, here's a list of what you can expect (shout to YouTuber NorZZa for compiling an extensive list of horse stats):

Horse Stamina Capacity Speed Courage
Pebbles 127 138 30 12
Herring 169 138 34 14
Bronka 152 158 52 8
Kincsem 235 138 60 5
Erdel 140 368 48 30

As you can see, the horses with superb stats in one category can take a hit with others. For instance, Kincsem does well in speed and stamina but not in capacity and courage. However, stats can improve, primarily if you unlock the Red Herring perk for the free horse. There may also be more horses out there that have yet to be discovered, giving you a ton more options for your traveling companion.

If you've played the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you may remember the Kuttenberg region. It was discussed several times during quests, but there was no way to get to it. Fortunately, KCD2 finally allows you to go here, and we're here to show you how you can unlock Kuttenberg.

How to unlock the second map in KCD2

When you first jump into Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll get the chance to explore the expansive Trosky region, including points of interest like Trosky Castle, Semine, and Zhelejov. You won't have access to the second map, Kuttenberg, as it is tied to a specific quest. In particular, you must complete the Storms main quest. It'll take you quite a while to reach this point, requiring a minimum of 11 to 12 hours of gameplay with the main story. If you want to see how long you've got until the Storms quest, here's a list of the missions you must complete first (in order):

  1. Last Rites
  2. Easy Riders
  3. Fortuna
  4. Laboratores
  5. Wedding Crashers
  6. For Whom the Bells Tolls
  7. Back in the Saddle
  8. Necessary Evil
  9. For Victory!
  10. Divine Messenger
  11. The Finger of God

The beginning of KCD2 is a long and difficult journey, especially when you need to find a way to get into the wedding. You'll just have to put in a lot of time and grind enough to unlock the Storms mission. Once you've reached this point, you'll trigger The Sword and the Quill main quest, taking you to Suchdol village in Kuttenberg. I won't delve into any spoilers here, but let's just say Kuttenberg is a pretty big place. That means there will be plenty more quests to unlock, including the Dancing with the Devil storyline.

A view of Kuttenburg

It will initially seem like you can't return to Trosky, as you're only presented with the Kuttenberg map. However, you can travel between the two regions using a caravan. If you're in Kuttenberg, use the caravan in Suchdol or the one near Nebakov Fortress while in Trosky. Keep in mind that some quests are time-limited, so you may need to be careful with frequent travels. Check out our all points of no return guide to ensure you don't miss out on any missions.

In all the time I've spent with Henry in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I've learned that he's quite the charmer. And I'm not just talking about with the ladies or gentlemen; he's a smooth talker to the players themselves, as he boasts about their photography in Photo Mode.

When I first dabbled with this mode, the compliments from Henry completely went over my head. Then, I realized that he was actually talking to me, as the player, telling me how much of a great job I did with my not-so-very-great picture. He'll continue to break the fourth wall every time you exit out of this mode, using flattering remarks like "That's a good one!", "Beautiful!" and "Nice one!"

Henry saying "That's a good one!" in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

I've been testing it out more and more to see if there's an object or romance option NPC that Henry reacts differently to, but to no avail. I even attempted it while I was on my way to cure his Drunkenness state, and no such luck either. He seems to always go through a loop of standard dialogue points, no matter where you are on the map. So, even if you take a picture of a bloody corpse with flies swirling around it, he'll still tell you how pretty it looks.

It's a welcome surprise to have a feature like this, which certainly brings a lot more humor and comfort to KCD2's tremendously violent world. However, I do wish we had a bit more to work with due to the basic functionality of the game's Photo Mode. There's only so much you can do with the angles, nor are there any sliders to help with lighting or saturation.

But if there's one thing that the Photo Mode desperately needs, it has to be the implementation of an emote or posture change for Henry. Sometimes, he's not the most photogenic person, standing awkwardly for the picture. It reminds me of all the horrible school pictures I took in my youth, where I didn't know how to smile.

Regardless of Henry's occasional hiccups with photography, it's still nice to even have Photo Mode introduced in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It was a feature much desired in the first iteration, and now it's taken a step further with Henry's fourth-wall-breaking moments. Hopefully, we'll get more improvements to it in the near future. But, for the time being, I'm just going to take a bunch of adorable pictures of the dog Mutt.

If you're exploring the first region of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll come across the Trosky Castle. Unfortunately, this settlement isn't available initially, as all the doors are blocked off. In this guide, we'll show you how to unlock Trosky Castle, providing you with a new base of operations.

How to get into Trosky Castle in KCD2

You can unlock Trosky Castle by completing the Wedding Crashers quest. This is the fifth main mission of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, where you're finally allowed to roam free. It'll be pretty challenging to conquer this quest, as many missions are tied to it. More specifically, you'll have to choose between the Miller or Blacksmith pathways, which are both quite lengthy to complete. If you need help on this journey, check out our guide on all the methods you can use to get into the wedding.

Trosky Castle map
Screenshot by Destructoid

When you've gotten into the wedding party, you're well on your way to entering Trosky Castle. You'll gain entry right after completing Wedding Crashers, triggering the From Whom the Bell Tolls quest. Once you've begun this storyline, you can start roaming around the castle. There are a few points of interest here, such as a Smithy, dice game tables, and a combat arena.

You can also tackle side quests at the castle, like finding the book for the Miller in Opus Magnum. The only downside is that you can't fast travel out of Trosky Castle until you've progressed further in the From Whom the Bell Tolls mission. Therefore, it's best to prioritize this objective to get you out there.

Besides the quests inside Trosky Castle, you can check around the area to discover new finds. In particular, Vagrant's hut will be near the fortress' entrance, giving you a free place to sleep. One of the treasures for the Lion's Crest bonus quest can also be found north of the settlement. All in all, Trosky Castle is an excellent area for a temporary home base, so try to take advantage of what it has to offer.

The Wedding Crashers storyline holds many mini-quests involving several characters you've met before. Gamekeeper Vostatek is one of those individuals who will ask you to keep him from getting drunk. Here's what you must do to keep him sober in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

KCD2 Keep Vostatek from getting drunk quest guide

While chatting it up at the wedding, you'll encounter Vostatek, the Gamekeeper you've likely met during the Lackey quest. You can find him talking to his wife near the kitchen or at the sword-fighting arena. This time, he doesn't want to cause any trouble with his drunkenness, and he'll need you to take away his drink four times. He'll change locations throughout the wedding, so you must explore around Semine to keep him in check.

Each time you take away a drink from him, you must complete another sub-task or talk to someone else to progress time. At first, it was hard for me to tell when he would move positions, but I found it best to use the Journal as a guide. If you open the Journal, it will either tell you he's doing okay or you need to check on him. When it's time to find him, he'll be fairly hidden in four locations. Let's break down each destination to keep Vostatek from getting drunk.

Vostatek wedding location #1

Locate Vostatek at the sword-fighting arena, next to the long food table and the dance floor. If you didn't encounter him earlier when he talked to his wife, you can still begin the quest at this point.

Vostatek wedding location #2

After some time has passed, Vostatek will be drinking to the left of the sword-fighting arena, next to the dice game tables. He'll try to convince you to have one more drink, but you'll need to deny him straight away.

Vostatek wedding location #3

Travel towards the left side of the wedding to locate an entryway near the water. It's the same place Myshka takes you to if you were able to charm her beforehand. Go through the entryway to stop Vostatek again.

You'll find Vostatek talking to his wife near the kitchen entrance (beside the Moravians). He'll thank you for keeping an eye on him and ask you to stop by his house later, thus completing his sub-quest at the wedding. This conversation likely indicates a reward in the near future, but I'll need to check what it actually entails. Nevertheless, you can continue with the Wedding Crashers quest to see what other shenanigans Henry will get into for the rest of the KCD2 narrative. If you want to prepare for the remainder of the journey, check out our guide on all points of no return so you don't miss out on any side quests.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 10 Best potions to prioritize https://www.destructoid.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-2-best-potions-to-prioritize/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=kingdom-come-deliverance-2-best-potions-to-prioritize https://www.destructoid.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-2-best-potions-to-prioritize/#respond Thu, 06 Feb 2025 22:06:26 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1007926 Key art for KCD2

Getting all the potions can be pricey in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as most recipes cost over 100 Groschen. That's why it's essential to choose the right ones, or else you may end up with something that isn't too beneficial. To avoid this, here's a list of the best potions.

Marigold Decoction

Marigold Decoction in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Marigold Decoction should be your very first priority due to its highly valuable healing remedies. A standard version of this recipe restores 25 health for about a minute and helps you get over any woozy hangovers. It may even provide you with even more buffs if you manage to produce a potent brew.

Thankfully, you can get your hands on the Marigold Decoction early on at the starter town, Troskowitz. The recipe is also available there, saving you from spending a fortune at an apothecary or trader shop.

Digestive Potion

Digestive potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Out of all the potions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the Digestive Potion is the one I wish I had carried with me early on. I made the mistake of food poisoning Henry quite a few times, resulting in restrictions on fast travel and his unfortunate death. Since you're basically left for dead in the food poison state, it's crucial to carry a Digestive Potion to cure this debuff.

Digestive Potions also decrease nourishment by 20 percent and increase the Vitality skill by one point for 10 minutes. Like Marigold Decoction and the others on this list, you can get the potion or the recipe at Troskowitz.

Nighthawk

Nighthawk potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you're a night owl, you should set your sights on Nighthawk, which allows you to see in the dark for 15 minutes. The potion is perfect for sneaky missions, where torches often give your position away to the enemy. Plus, you won't have to worry about your Energy, as this concoction temporarily slows it down by 25 percent.

You can visit Aranka at the Nomad Camp to discover the Nighthawk, which you may have encountered when on the Find Mutt quest. The second map, Kuttenburg, has this potion, too, if you've progressed far enough in the main quest.

Cockerel

Strong Cockerel potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

While you're out and about, you may have difficulty finding a place to sleep, primarily when you're deep in the woods. That's where the Cockerel potion comes into play, replenishing around 20 Energy to wake Henry up. Plus, a strong brew can make him less sleepy for at least half a day.

If you're just starting out in KCD2, you can seemingly only purchase Cockerels from Aranka and the apothecary merchants. You'll have to wait for the recipe until you reach the second map.

Saviour Schnapps

Saviour Schnapps in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Player techniques like savescumming won't really work in the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as the game forces you to live with certain decisions you've made. However, you can take advantage of the Savior Schnapps potion to save the game at specific intervals. It also offers buffs for Strength, Agility, and general healing for a minute or so.

You should get a few Savior Schnapps from NPCs initially, but you'll undoubtedly need more as you progress. I recommend saving them for any major battles or heavy choice-related content. Avoid using them if you're participating in minor tasks by sleeping or exiting the game.

Hair o' the Dog

Hair o' the dog potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

After a long day's work of vanquishing enemies and rescuing helpless villages, it's always nice to end it off with a nice cold sip of beer. However, on some occasions, Henry can get a little too tipsy, which isn't exactly the best state to be in if you're on the way to a battle. Even though his drunken state can lead to bad things, it shouldn't stop you from having a good time, especially when you can rely on the Hair o' the Dog.

This potion comes in handy when you've drunk too much alcohol, possibly triggering the Drunkenness debuff. It may also help with hangovers, another debuff that negatively impacts Henry's performance.

Buck's Blood

Buck's Blood potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Besides the complex combat mechanics, I frequently ran into trouble with Henry's stamina. Not only does it affect how long you run, but it also makes it challenging to land a move in a fight. So, if you're struggling to catch a breath, you should prioritize the Buck's Blood recipe.

Those successful in brewing a high-quality Buck's Blood can boost stamina levels and regeneration. What's more, you can use the Embrocation potion for more stamina increases and an additional Agility enhancement.

Quickfinger Potion

Quickfinger potion in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Quickfinger Potion caters to players who enjoy crafting and sneaking. Consume it to earn a four-point boost for the Craftmanship and Thievery skills for roughly 20 minutes. It works great for the times when you're about to make a new tool or on a mission to rob someone.

During the early stages of the game, these particular skills can be pretty low, even if you did choose the best playstyle in the Easy Riders quest. Since it takes a while to increase their levels, the Quickfinger Potion can make you feel like you're an expert in these abilities, at least temporarily.

Aesop

Aesop potion in KCD2

For the hunters, you can prioritize the Aesop potion recipe in Kuttenburg to reduce the risk of animals noticing you. Dogs, in particular, won't be able to detect you, which works well when you're trying to sneak around.

Once you've bought or found a horse, this potion increases your Horsemanship level by five for half the day. It also provides a boost for the Houndmaster skill for those who completed the Find Mutt quest.

Aqua Vitalis

In addition to the Marigold Decoction, you can get the Aqua Vitalis potion to reduce loss of health temporarily. Henry can go down rather quickly, so a resource like this will certainly help you out of a pinch.

A powerful Aqua Vitalis can slow down bleeding, allowing you to save some bandages for later. However, you'll likely need to sleep it off or use the Marigold Decoction to get Henry back to tip-top shape.

Each time you conquer an objective, you'll get Event Points, which you can exchange via the Blast from the Past event page.

There are also some new items to claim, like the Surprise Birthday Cake. It'll make birthday parties much more interesting, as a Sim can hide inside the cake to surprise their special someone. I just hope it doesn't scare anyone to death, as Sims tend to die in the oddest ways. Fortunately, you can use the Life and Death cheats if things do go wrong.

How to beat Giovanni in Pokémon Go: Best counters, team lineup, and strategy (January 2025) https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-beat-giovanni-in-pokemon-go-best-counters-team-lineup-and-strategy/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-beat-giovanni-in-pokemon-go-best-counters-team-lineup-and-strategy https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-beat-giovanni-in-pokemon-go-best-counters-team-lineup-and-strategy/#respond Thu, 06 Feb 2025 13:39:52 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=487399 Giovanni in Pokemon Go

The Team Rocket boss, Giovanni, knows his way around the battlefield, especially with his elite ensemble of creatures. We're here to help you defeat him in Pokémon Go by showing you the best Giovanni counters, team lineup, and strategies for January 2025.

How to defeat Giovanni in Pokémon Go

Once you activate the Super Rocket Radar, you can pinpoint Giovanni's location at PokéStops or Team Rocket balloons. His lineup recently changed with the Adventure Week update, showcasing his new ace Pokémon, Shadow Cresselia. Before heading into battle, it's essential to equip the right team members. Depending on your Pokémon Go selection, here are a few ways you can decide on a group for Giovanni:

Best team lineup for Giovanni in Pokémon Go

You can equip Machamp/Lucario, Tyranitar, and Xerneas to get the best team lineup for Giovanni in Pokémon Go. The first round mandates a Fighting Type Pokémon, where Machamp or Lucario comes into play. Both Pokémon effectively counter Giovanni's Persian and Kangaskhan, who are vulnerable to Fighting-type Pokémon.

Best team for Giovanni

Xerneas can be used for the other two second-round possibilities, with Honchkrow and Kingdra. As a Dark and Dragon-type, respectively, both are weak to Xerneas' Fairy-type attacks. Once these two are down, you can send Tyranitar against Shadow Cresselia. Tyranitar will resist most of the corrupted Lunar Pokémon attacks as a Dark-type, so you should have enough of an advantage to score a win. It can also be helpful for Honchkrow, which has an additional weakness in its rock-type moves.

If you don't have any of these Pokémon in your collection, we'll give you a few alternatives to counter Giovanni:

Best counters against Giovanni in Pokémon Go

Giovanni's Pokémon Counters
Shadow Persian -Annihilape
-Machamp
-Lucario
-Conkeldurr
-Terrakion
-Keldeo
Shadow Honchkrow (second round possibility) -Xerneas
-Xurkitree
-Electivire
-Rampardos
-Rhyperior
-Togekiss
-Shadow Raikou
-Magnezone
-Tyranitar
Shadow Kangaskhan (second round possibility) -Lucario
-Machamp
-Terrakion
-Mega Blaziken
-Conkeldurr
Shadow Kingdra (second round possibility) -Xerneas
-Dragonite
-Rayquaza
-Palkia
-Mega Salamence
-Haxorus
Shadow Cresselia -Tyranitar
-Guzzlord
-Yvetal
-Incineroar
-Hydreigon
-Gengar
-Giratina

No matter what, Persian will always be the first Pokémon shown in Giovanni's fight. So, taking advantage of its weakness in Fighting Types is best. The three most popular choices amongst the community for this match are Annihilape, Machamp, and Lucario. Plus, these creatures can go against Kangaskhan, allowing you to hit two birds with one stone.

The next round could bring out Honchkrow, Kangaskhan, or Kingdra. Kangaskhan and Honchkrow share a weakness with Fairy Types like Xerneas. But since getting a Legendary is pretty challenging, you can opt for other Fairy creatures, such as Togekiss. While Electric-types can be helpful in this battle, only Honchkrow has this weakness.

As the last boss of Pokémon Go's Giovanni battle, Shadow Cresselia will increase the challenge even further. Use Dark, Bug, or Ghost Types against this formidable foe. Besides Tyranitar, Incineroar is an excellent alternative, but the others on the list can prove just as viable.

How to make Groschen fast in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-make-groschen-fast-in-kingdom-come-deliverance-2/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-make-groschen-fast-in-kingdom-come-deliverance-2 https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-make-groschen-fast-in-kingdom-come-deliverance-2/#respond Thu, 06 Feb 2025 01:53:49 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1007312 Henry in KCD2

Like real life, money makes the world go round in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Acquiring coins will be challenging initially, but there are a few ways to quicken the process. Here's what you need to do to make Groschen fast in KCD2.

Best methods to make money fast in KCD2

The start of your KCD2 adventures can be pretty rough, especially since you're left with little to no money. At the beginning of my journey, I made many mistakes when attempting to earn coins, often leaving me with a hot ball of nothing through certain techniques. But, after a while, I finally started to find my groove using a few handy methods. For a quick overview, you can utilize the following techniques to make money fast in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2:

  • Go on a stealing spree
  • Complete the Cabbage Thief quest
  • Win in fistfighting competitions
  • Play and win dice games
  • Find treasure maps and uncover valuables
  • Complete side quests
  • Unlock Perks

Since the methods above are slightly challenging, I'll break them all down to help you understand them better.

Go on a stealing spree

Robbing an NPC in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Stealing and robbing is the quickest way to make Groschen fast, but it's not without risks. If you're caught, you'll likely need to spend money to get out of trouble. Or, go the violent route and attack the guard who's got ahold of you. However, you can always save and quit before attempting a robbery, allowing you to try again if things go wrong.

It's also a good idea to choose the Scout playstyle, as it will help with sneaky maneuvers. Plus, you can boost your stealth skill by exchanging the Perk Points you'll earn throughout your playthrough. Another tactic I like to do is to wait for nighttime and rob someone while they're sleeping. That way, you don't have to worry about any watchful eyes.

Complete the Cabbage Thief quest

Cabbage Thief in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you want to make a lot of money early on in the game, you can talk to Bailiff Thrush at the starter town, Troskowitz. He'll tell you about a cabbage thief who's been robbing a Grocer (to the left of Semine). All you need to do is follow the trail of cabbages and turn in the thief to claim the money. You don't even need to initiate any combat since the robber doesn't put up a fight.

Win in fistfight competitions

Fighting Hensel in KCD2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has its own version of a fight club in Lower Semine Mill. Speak to Miller Kreyzl about it to unlock this unique feature.

Lower Semine Mill location
Screenshot by Destructoid

Talk to Hensel to begin the fistfighting competition, where you'll have to wager 10 Groschen each time. It's a small price you have to pay to earn more money later on. Defeat Hensel, Malik, and Vira for a total of 60 Groschen.

Return to Miller Kreyzl to unlock the Zhelejov fistfights. Fortunately, Miller will pay the entry fee this time, giving you 150 Groschen. You can take this money and be on your way or use it to participate in the Zhelejov fights.

If you want to make extra money, go to Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn  (to the left of Troskowitz). Talk to the Innkeeper Lawrence to begin the Wine, Women, and Blood quest for 100 Groschen. You'll also need to speak to Bathhouse Owner Dorothy and convince her to let Fiala fight. Additionally, you can talk to Bathwench Anna near Dorothy to get an extra reward after knocking out Bohunek.

Now, it's time to defeat Hannes, Bohunek, and Fiala to earn 60 Groschen in total (exchange 10 Groschen to begin each one). Remember to talk to Bathwench Anna to replenish your health and sew your clothing for free. Then, talk to the Innkeeper Lawrence to get 200 Groschen. You'll unlock the last fighter, the Trosky Grandmaster, who will be above Trosky Castle. Although this mission doesn't provide you with Groschen, you can go there to pick up a new skill teacher.

Play and win dice games

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 dice minigame

You can discover dice tables in almost every major Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 settlement. The goal here is to earn plenty of dice combinations, whether with multiples of the same number or a straight (like poker). Similar to the robbing technique, you can save beforehand to keep your money intact if things don't go as planned. This method is heavily luck-based, but it can give you a lot of money when you come out victorious.

Find treasure maps

Hidden treasure location in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Speak to various NPCs, like Innkeepers or merchants, to get hints about the game's many treasure maps. Enemies can carry these maps, too, but you'll need to take them down to loot them from their bodies. Sometimes, the treasure maps can lead to valuable gear, including the Lion's Crest Bonus Quest. While missions like these don't give you too much money, you can at least save yourself from spending Groschen on equipment.

Complete side quests

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 The Jaunt side quest guide

Considering that Main Quests usually take up a lot of your time, opt for the Side Quests to get more bang for your buck. Objectives like the Jaunt and Bad Blood provide Groschen, which you can complete early on in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. I recommend just exploring around the map to see what side adventures you unlock. Depending on your luck, you may find one that gives you a significant amount of Groschen.

Unlock Perks

Unlocking Potion Seller skill

Specific Perks increase how much money you'll make when selling items to a merchant. For instance, the Alchemy Skill's Potion Seller offers a 30 percent sell boost when exchanging the potions you've brewed. You can also use the On the Poacher's Trail Survival Skill to sell herbs, game, hides, and trophies for double the price.

While exploring the lands of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you'll encounter many peculiar characters who either want to kill you or need your help. In particular, you may have run into a quest involving a cabbage thief that's caused some trouble. Here's where to find this leafy thief.

How to start the Cabbage Thief quest in KCD2

You can start the Cabbage Thief quest by speaking to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz. Since this mission is considered a free-roam objective, there won't be a waypoint for this character. Based on my experience, he tends to roam around this village, so try to look out for his yellowish clothing. You may also greet him during the Bad Blood quest, which will place a marker on his location.

Once you've encountered Baliff Thrush, ask him, "What's new?" and he eventually tells you about the cabbage thief. He'll also direct you to the Grocer, thus beginning the mission.

How to find the Cabbage Thief in KCD2

Locate the Grocer south of Troskowitz to learn more about the cabbage thief's whereabouts. You can use the Semine fast travel point to get here faster.

Next, talk to the Peasant at the Grocer to narrow down the thief's location.

Peasant in KCD2

After speaking to the Peasant, you can go south of the Grocer to follow a trail of cabbages.

Eventually, you'll end up at the Cabbage Cave on the southwest side of the Grocer.

Sauerkraut Pepa, aka the cabbage thief, will be lingering around here. Confront him to see why he's been stealing cabbages.

Entrance to Cabbage Cave

Should you attack, turn in, or let go of Sauerkraut Pepa in KCD2?

You'll have to decide whether to let Sauerkraut Pepa go, turn him in, or attack him. But before you do that, question him a bit more, and he'll give you a sauerkraut as a gift, triggering a +1 vitality bonus. Once you've gained the item, I find it best to turn in Sauerkraut Pepa to get 789 Groschen. It's pretty challenging to earn money in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, especially in the beginning, so this option is well worth it.

Sauerkraut Pepa choices in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

However, it's still possible to claim the money even after you've eliminated him since the Baliff seems to give you the coins, regardless. But if you want to save yourself from a ruthless killing, simply turn him in to avoid violence altogether. You can also let him go to gain more of his delicious sauerkraut.

Those who decide to turn him can return to the Baliff at Troskowitz and tell him: 'I found the cabbage thief' to get your money. Now, you may be able to afford expensive purchases like a horse or upgraded armor.

As an esteemed pre-orderer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you're in for a treat - the exclusive Lion's Crest bonus quest. This mission involves various challenges, from solving a riddle to locating hidden armor. We'll show you how to complete this quest, earning you the legendary Lion's Crest.

How to start Lion's Crest bonus quest in KCD2

You can start the Lion's Crest bonus quest after you've completed the tutorial phase in Troskowitz. Once you're allowed to free roam, open your map to locate the purple-colored quill icon for the mission.

The Lion's Crest quest start
Screenshot by Destructoid

Upon reaching the quest waypoint, you'll meet Scribe Gailbl inside the building. He'll regale you with the legends of the Brunswick armor and a riddle on how to find it. After talking to him, he'll reward you with a Brunswick Poleaxe Sketch. This sketch, requiring one fastening material, three iron, and one Frankfurt steel, is not essential for the mission, but it's a worthy addition to your arsenal if you're in need of a new weapon.

Before embarking on your adventure, ensure you're well-equipped. Acquire a Spade from a merchant or as loot - it's a crucial tool for unearthing treasure later on. Additionally, having a trusty horse by your side will significantly ease your travels, making your journey more enjoyable and efficient.

How to find Lion's Crest in KCD2

The Lion's Crest bonus quest begins with the first riddle, followed by various map locations. Let's break them all down to get you the exclusive Lion's Crest in KCD2.

The lengthy riddle Scribe gives you delves into various points of interest, like the hall of the forest kings and mysterious gates. Using these hints will lead you to large rocks above Trosky Castle (top-right corner of the map).

You should see a light illuminating from a cross, which will be right above the treasure. Use the spade to dig underneath, and you'll gain these items:

  • Brunswick's dagger
  • Brunswick's gauntlet
  • Fragments from the Bible
  • Groschen

You'll receive a set of two maps from the Chapel in the Rocks dig site. Fortunately, the first one isn't too far, located to the left of Trosky Castle near a Wolf hunting spot.

Come prepared for a fight while approaching the Wolf hunting spot. Mutt can help you here if you need an extra hand. But, if you haven't found him yet, you can get rid of them by yourself. Wait for one of them to attack you and try to block them for the parry, allowing you to strike them down. However, it's crucial to keep track of the other ones around you to avoid any surprise attacks. Just don't go up too close to them so you can see where the others are. Once they are dealt with, go between two giant trees.

The monthly beat-down of Team Rocket's leaders has become one of the greatest joys of playing Pokémon Go. Cliff is one of the easier members of the current Team Rocket administration to take on, but he can still trouble you. Here’s how to defeat Cliff in Pokémon Go in January 2025.

How to defeat Cliff in Pokémon GO

Cliff is essentially a slab of muscle, as are his bulky Pokémon. But don’t think you need a strategy to bring him down. To find Cliff in Pokémon Go, you must use a Rocket Radar to narrow down his location. Defeat Team Rocket Grunts, marked with a Team Rocket balloon, and collect six Mysterious Components to create the device.

You can then use the Rocket Radar to show Cliff's whereabouts on the map. Like other bosses, he can appear at PokéStops or Team Rocket balloons. Other enemies sometimes appear there, making Cliff's appearance uncertain.

Although Cliff's Pokémon lineup has remained relatively the same, the Adventure Week update has revamped his collection, along with Giovanni's. So, if you've fought this boss before, you're in for a surprise with its new Shadow Lileep.

Best team lineup for Cliff in Pokémon Go

Team to use for Cliff in Pokemon Go

To create the best team for Cliff in Pokémon Go, use Lucario, Baxcalibur, and Metagross/Gardevoir. Baxcalibur proves to be a standout amongst the team because of its dual Dragon and Ice Types. Several Pokémon on Cliff's team will be vulnerable to these types, where you can use Baxcalibur almost every round. Lucario also covers a few of the boss' weaknesses as a Steel and Fighting Type. Both creatures promise to be a formidable force on the battlefield, which will be effective against his newest Pokémon.

If you want to cover all bases, equip Gardevoir for its Psychic and Fairy attacks. It'll be great for Cliff's Kingdra and Tyranitar, who can appear in the second or third rounds. Metagross is another suitable option against Lileep, Tyranitar, and Cradily.

How to beat Cliff's team in Pokémon Go

Cradily ,Crobat, and Tyranitar

You'll go against Shadow Lileep in the first round of Cliff's battle. Since it's weak against Ice, Fighting, Bug, and Steel, it'll allow you to choose from multiple Pokémon. Thanks to their robust attacks, Lucario and Metagross are among the best to use for this. If you get the exclusive Dusk Mane Necrozma, you can opt for this one instead to unleash even more damage.

When fighting Cliff’s second Pokémon, you may fight Shadow Kingdra, Shadow Aerodactyl, or Shadow Marowak. Kingdra is a Water and Dragon Type Pokémon weak to both Dragon and Fairy Type moves. Rayquaza is ideal, as its Dragon Tail attack can turn Kingdra into sashimi. But if you haven’t had the chance to tame the Sky High Pokémon, Dragonite is an excellent substitute that functions similarly. Just put Dragon Tail on Dragonite’s quick move and Hurricane on its significant move to ensure it can counter two of Cliff’s possible Pokémon.

Aerodactyl and Marowak share a weakness with Water and Ice Types, so it's best to use creatures like Kyogre or Mamoswine. Even more so, Baxcalibur can stand against both Pokémon, thanks to its Ice attacks.

For Cliff’s third Pokémon, you’ll have the chance to encounter Shadow Tyranitar, Shadow Cradily, and Shadow Crobat. This is a diverse and powerful lineup, so bring your heavy hitters out.

If you’re facing Tyranitar, you can exploit its Fighting and Steel weaknesses with Metagross and Lucario. Metagross is truly the star of this team, as it offers so much. But beware. Tyranitar may have a Dark Type attack, which can brutalize Metagross. Lucario has the highest chance of surviving this fight, as it takes reduced damage from Tyranitar’s Rock and Dark Type attacks.

If Cliff calls on Cradily, you’ll call on the same Pokémon. Metagross and Lucario can exploit Cradily’s weakness in Fighting and Steel Type attacks. Cradily isn’t a powerhouse and is one of the easier Pokémon to fight in this last match, so don't worry about it too much.

The final Pokémon Cliff can have in his arsenal is Crobat. This Poison and Flying Type Pokémon is weak to Psychic and Rock-type attacks. If you have Metagross, Mewtwo, or Gardevoir in your arsenal, you should have no problem clipping Crobat’s wings. But if you don’t, Rayquaza with Ancient Power will ground it – literally.

When exploring the Food and Potions page, you'll notice an option to put it in a pouch for extra storage. Unfortunately, this particular resource won't be given to you initially, so you must find a way to get it yourself. Here's how to unlock pouches in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Where to get pouches in KCD2

You can purchase pouches from Tailors or Traders, found in almost every area on the map. These merchants won't be available at the story's beginning, so ensure to complete the tutorial in Troskowitz first. This includes objectives like burying a body and brewing a healing potion. Once you are free to travel, you can find the first merchant to the left of the Trokskowitz Tavern.

Speak to Merchant Jurg Thomel there to start trading. Alternatively, you can find a Tailor on the right side of Trokskowitz, where you can talk to Bartoshek. If you have already left this starter area, you can try to look for other Traders and Tailors in the remaining locations.

While at the shop, browse through the Armor collection and scroll to the Body section. You'll discover items like the Wanderer's pouch, requiring around 50 Groschen. The higher-quality pouches will likely cost you more money, but you may be able to lower the price if you successfully haggle with the merchant. Unfortunately, you won't have that much money initially, so it's best to grind a bit before buying a pouch. Earn Groschen by selling unwanted materials, completing side quests, or going the thieving route by stealing goods.

Once you can afford a pouch, equip it to place potions and food inside. You'll now see slots via the Quick Consumable section on the right side of your health bar.

Now, instead of going through the hassle of opening your inventory, you'll have easy access to your food and potions with the click of a button (right directional on the d-pad). It'll help save you a lot of time during Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's many showdowns.

Practicing the art of alchemy can be challenging when you begin your adventures in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Even the very first potion you brew will be difficult to produce, requiring specific actions. So, if you need help in the Fortuna quest, here's how to make the healing potion.

KCD2 Fortuna 'Brew the healing potion' quest walkthrough

After you've disposed of the body and collected the resources for the potion recipe, you'll speak to Bozhena to begin your first lesson in alchemy. Follow her to discover the alchemy bench, where you'll place down the recipe book. You must make the Chamomile Decoction, as shown inside the book.

Recipe for the Chamomile Decoction
Screenshot by Destructoid

Here are the ingredients you need to make this healing potion:

  • 1 Wine
  • 2 Handfuls of chamomile
  • 1 Handful of sage

You'll likely have the chamomile and sage with you (from the grassy area above the house). The wine will also be near you, so you don't have to search for this one. For a quick overview, complete these steps in order to make the Chamomile Decoction in KCD2:

  1. Pour the correct base into the cauldron
  2. Add the chamomile and boil for one turn
  3. Grind the sage and add it to the cauldron
  4. Pour the concoction into the phial

Following along with the recipe book is easier said than done. Therefore, I'll break down each step to give you a clearer picture.

Step 1: Pour the correct base into the cauldron

If you take a look at the recipe book, you'll see a symbol of a triangle facing down with a line at the top. This indicates that wine is the correct base, which will be between the water and oil vases.

Step 2: Add the chamomile and boil for one turn

Before you add the chamomile, Bozhena will ask you to boil the cauldron first to see what it looks like. Move the cauldron down to make it boil, and use the Bellows to make it cook faster. Once you've taken care of that, open your inventory to grab the chamomile and sage.

Look to the right and grab two handfuls of the chamomile (it'll be marked with this name). Throw it into the pot. You'll need to do this step individually, placing a handful each time. Next, move the cauldron down to bring it to a boil and turn the sandglass.

Using the Sandglass in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Wait until all the sand in the glass is at the bottom (just one turn), and move the cauldron up again. Now that the chamomile has been boiled, it's time to put in the sage.

Step 3: Grind the sage and add it to the cauldron

Grab a handful of sage from the other bag and grind it down. Look all the way down and place it inside the bowl labeled 'Mortar.'

Mortar bowl in KCD2
Screenshot by Destructoid

Drop the sage inside the cauldron. The sage doesn't require any boiling, so the potion should be ready at this point.

Step 4: Pour the healing potion into the phial

You'll see a batch of phials on the left side of the alchemy table. Interact with it to pour the healing potion (from the cauldron) into the phial.

The Chamomile brew will now be yours for the taking, allowing you to help with Hans' injury. If you want to make additional batches of this potion, complete the steps above again in the nearest alchemy table.

As you progress through the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 story, you'll dabble much more with alchemy. Ingredients for these concoctions can be found in the wilds or from shop owners like Herbalists and Apothecaries. The playstyle you've chosen at the beginning can also help you master Alchemy, making it easier to make potions. Of course, you won't be an alchemist expert right off the bat, but you can work your way to that point by experimenting at the alchemy tables.

Which Cosmoem evolution is better in Pokémon GO? https://www.destructoid.com/which-cosmoem-evolution-is-better-in-pokemon-go/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=which-cosmoem-evolution-is-better-in-pokemon-go https://www.destructoid.com/which-cosmoem-evolution-is-better-in-pokemon-go/#respond Tue, 04 Feb 2025 19:02:02 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=354633 Cosmoem evolutions in Pokémon GO

Choosing the best evolution of Cosmoem in Pokémon GO isn't straightforward. Both Solgaleo and Lunala have pros and cons, with one possibly more beneficial. Let's examine both to determine the best Cosmoem evolution in Pokémon GO.

How to evolve Cosmoem into Solgaleo or Lunala in Pokémon Go

You'll need to spend 100 Cosmog Candies to evolve Cosmoeum, but don't get too happy with your trigger finger once you finally net the one-hundredth Candy. Whether Cosmoeum evolves into Solgaleo or Lunala depends on whether you evolve it during the day or at night. As I'm sure you can guess, evolving Cosmoem during the day will transform them into Solgaleo, and doing the same at night will turn them into Lunala.

Solgaleo

Solgaleo in Pokemon Go

From a colorful cloud to a galaxy in a cage, Cosmoem's evolution to Solgaleo is a glow-up. This 11-foot-tall lion is metal from tail to mane. It also reminds me of Zoids, so that's a plus in my book. Following the space theme, the name Solgaleo references the Sun and Galileo, the scientist who first theorized that the Earth orbits around the Sun, not the other way around. Its face resembles our closest star's fiery corona, especially when its bejeweled mane unfolds to it's full width. Despite these changes, Solgaleo keeps a bit of Cosmoem's aesthetic in its forehead, which looks like stars under glass. It also radiates light and can travel through Ultra Wormholes.

With an Attack of 255, a Defense of 191, and a Stamina of 264, Solgaleo is a sturdy Pokémon with a max HP of 220. The downside is that it is vulnerable to several types, including Fire, Dark, Ground, and Ghost- types-Pokemon. This means there's a greater chance of facing off against an opponent who can do a bit of damage. Even then, though, Solgaleo will resist much of that damage. Maybe the most useful is the resistance to fellow Steel-type Pokémon.

Best moveset for Solgaleo in Pokémon Go

As a dedicated attacker, Solgaleo is at its best when working with a move set that allows it to deal with consistent damage. Zen Headbutt is a fantastic primary move since it recharges fast and benefits from the same-type attack bonus. Solar Beam is a great secondary move, thematically and mechanically. Not only does it draw on the sun's power, but it's also super-effective against Ground, one of Solgaleo's chief weaknesses.

Best teammates for Solgaleo in Pokémon Go

As a Legendary Pokemon, Solgaleo's counters are Pokémon on a similar power scale. Fire-type legendaries like Reshiram and Primal Groudon pose the biggest threat to Solgaleo, but ghost-types like Gengar and Chandelure can also cause a lot of damage to this lion. As a result, you'll want to pair Solgaleo up with solid Water-types like Primal Kyogre or Mega Groudon.

Alternatively, Solgaelo can be a fantastic addition to a team struggling with Fairy-type Pokemon. While it's primarily an attacker, Solgaleo's defense is nothing to sneeze at, and it can be a good ally for Rayquza and Dialga.

Lunala

Lunala in Pokemon Go

Lunala is one of my favorite-looking Legendary Pokemon. Its design is what I'd call "hauntingly elegant," a bizarre mix of the celestial and the macabre that criticals my hits something fierce. This oversized fruit bat's brittle, skeletal body contrasts with its beautiful, shimmering wings. Like Solgaleo, Lunala's design still has a few leftover elements from its Cosmoeum days, particularly the golden trim of Cosmoeum's orb. Its wings fan out when it attacks, making it look almost perfectly circular, and the third eye glowing on its forehead ties it all together in a nice bow.

Lunala has the same attack and defense stats as Solgaleo, but it only has two weaknesses: Dark-type Pokémon and other Ghost-types. However, both these types are doubly super-effective against Lunala, dealing four times the damage they normally would when they hit. While Lunala doesn't have to worry about as many types as Solgaleo does, the types it is weak to are so effective against it that sending it out in battle is always an enormous gamble.

Best moveset for Lunala in Pokémon Go

Lunala doesn't have a diverse move pool, but it has access to some of the most powerful moves of its respective types. Confusion is the perfect main move for Lunala, able to deal a respectable amount of damage quickly and reliably. Shadow Ball is the best pick for the second slot since it recharges fairly quickly and can deal a lot of damage to other Ghost-types, covering one of the Lunala's two weaknesses.

Best teammates for Solgaleo in Pokémon Go

You'll probably send Lunala against other Legendaries, Mega-evolved Pokémon, and other heavy-hitters. While Lunala can hold its own against other mighty Ghost-types like Mega Gengar, its Dark-type weakness can cripple it if it doesn't have teammates who can deal with that weakness. Mega Gallade and Mega Gardivor are great picks since they boost confusion and have options to deal with dark types.

As a teammate, Lunala is a fantastic partner to any Pokemon weak to Psychic, Poison, and Ghost-types. Its high attack and decent defense give it an edge in Gym and Raid battles, especially against competitive mainstays like Shadow Mewtwo.

How to get Cosmoem in Pokémon GO

Cosmog in Pokemon Go
Screenshot by Destructoid

The only way to get a Cosmoem is to evolve a Cosmog with 25 Candies. Fortunately, you can get a Cosmog by completing the Cosmic Companion Special Research.

Select the binoculars icon and press the 'Special' tab for this. To catch the Cosmog, complete the following tasks:

  • Catch 15 Pokémon
  • Make 10 Curveball throws
  • Catch 15 Psychic types

Compared to other Field Research tasks, Cosmic Companion is relatively easy to achieve, especially when Psychic types are around. After this, a Cosmog encounter starts, providing you with this Pokémon, 500 Stardust, and 1,000 XP.

Now that you have the creature needed for the Cosmoem evolution, it's time to gather Cosmog Candy. The candy can be gained when the Cosmog is your active Buddy or from other Field Research tasks.

Cosmic Companion's fourth phase provides 25 Candies, which is the exact amount for the evolution. It only requires you to catch three Pokémon, so it shouldn't take too long. I suggest saving this procedure for the Field Research mission's next step, as it involves the Cosmog's evolution for more rewards.

Strategically, Solgaleo is the safer bet because of its greater number of resistances and higher bulk. You may run into more weaknesses with the lion, but at least you could have a shot at winning if you've leveled the Emmisary of the Sun enough. Its unique typing gives Solgaleo an edge in Raids and Gym battles, especially if it's equipped with Solar Beam, which can take on Primal Kyogre and other common Gym guardians.

If Lunala had higher stats, I would say go for the bat! Lunala grew on me. It's weaknesses to Ghost and Dark are hard to get around, but it can hold it's own in PvP, especially against trainers who like to run Shadow Mewtwo. It can even do pretty well in Gym battles against meta-dominators like Metagross.

During the Easy Riders quest, you must choose between three playstyles to help set you up for the rest of the journey. We're here to show you the best playstyle to start with in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, including details on stats.

What is the best starting playstyle in KCD2?

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 offers three starting playstyles: Soldier, Adviser, and Scout. Soldier is a standard option in most RPGs, as you harness a weapon and suit of armor. As for the Adviser, this role helps out with conversations, differing from the stealthy maneuvers of the Scout. Of the three, Adviser is the best choice for your starting playstyle, offering better conversation dialogue options.

Picking a playstyle in KCD2

Conversations can always be a bit tricky, as many dialogue choices can lead to unwanted conflict. So, to lessen the risk, the Adviser role will likely smooth things over during intense moments. However, there's nothing wrong with choosing the Soldier or Scout paths, especially if they better suit your playstyle. Although these playstyles won't have as many dialogue advantages as Adviser, there may still be a chance to turn the tide in your favor. For example, I tried the Soldier route first and persuaded an enemy enough, avoiding conflict temporarily.

All starting playstyle stats and traits in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If you are still undecided on your playstyle choice, here's a breakdown of all starting stats for each trait:

There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages to each playstyle in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For instance, Adviser has higher stats in Alchemy and Scholarship than Soldier and Scout. On the other hand, Scout comes out victorious in Survival and Thievery, making it easier to hunt and lockpick.

Player Secondary Stats

Note that starting stats will change as you progress through the story. I won't reveal any spoilers, but let's just say they will drastically change during the beginning parts of the main campaign. Additionally, the playstyle stats will gain boosts from specific items. In particular, if you have Spurs attached, you'll earn a plus-one enhancement for the Horsemanship. It'll all fluctuate throughout the adventure, so try to see what works best for you.

10 Best Game Boy Advance (GBA) games you can play on Nintendo Switch https://www.destructoid.com/best-game-boy-advance-gba-games-you-can-play-on-nintendo-switch/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=best-game-boy-advance-gba-games-you-can-play-on-nintendo-switch https://www.destructoid.com/best-game-boy-advance-gba-games-you-can-play-on-nintendo-switch/#respond Tue, 04 Feb 2025 12:37:17 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=999844 Samus, Link, Yoshi, and Baby Mario

Before the Nintendo Switch and Wii U GamePad, there was the Game Boy Advance. It seems like only yesterday that I was playing on that tiny little screen, making the time go by much faster during long car rides — well, unless the screen was too dark to see at night.

Although it seems as if the times of the Game Boy Advance have come and gone, the Nintendo Switch Online subscription has kept it alive. So, if you want to get a blast from the past, here are the best GBA games you can play on the Nintendo Switch.

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

To this day, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 remains my favorite Mario game. The manifold of worlds and vigorous abilities were enough to keep me entertained at the age of eight, a time when I didn't exactly have the best attention span. It stuck with me for so long that I would eventually revisit it again in my adulthood, just to experience the nostalgia.

I know there are plenty of other great Mario titles out there, but you should make the time (if you haven't already) for Super Mario Bros. 3. It's a classic platformer that stands the test of time and is often considered the fan-favorite of the franchise.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

The Legend of Zelda series has carved its place in the Nintendo collection, with unforgettable titles like Ocarina of Time and Tears of the Kingdom. During the Game Boy Advance era, we were graced with The Minish Cap, a classic adventure that follows the valiant Link. What sets this entry apart is its unique perspective, allowing you to experience Hyrule in a whole new light by shrinking Link down in size. This change in scale makes everything around you appear grander, where even the leaves take on a colossal form.

Seeing the world through a smaller lens makes exploring all the more interesting, especially if you spent a lot of time in Hyrule in past games. Though, I will say the dungeons can be a bit grueling, whether with overwhelming hordes of enemies or puzzles that require a bit of backtracking. But if you're a fan of the series and don't mind a little challenge, you should definitely pick this one up. Even newcomers can try it out to experience its retro goodness.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team

Almost every Pokémon entry follows the traditional journey of a trainer as they catch and release critters in an epic battle. But with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, things take a different turn, assuming the role of a Pokémon rather than a human being. In fact, there's not even a human in sight, where the entire universe is only made up of legendary creatures.

The same Pokémon battles you know and love are still present, just with a twist of a much more direct approach. You'll also understand what Pokémon are actually saying, including many dialogue scenes during rescue missions. So, instead of Pikachu's usual "Pika Pika" dialogue, you'll have a rather intellectual conversation with the franchise's most notable character.

F-ZERO Climax

F-Zero Climax gameplay

The Nintendo Switch Online system comes with plenty of F-Zero games to choose from, such as Climax, GP Legend, and 99. If I had to pick one, it would have to be F-Zero Climax, considered one of the best in the business with 2D racing games. There's a plethora of modes to go around, from the competitive Grand Pix to the fast-paced Time Attack.

You can also make the tracks much more personalized through Edit mode, where up to 30 original courses can be carefully crafted. That way, you can test out both your customization and racing skills.

Fire Emblem

Original Fire Emblem Expansion Pack
Image via Nintendo YouTube

Since the Fire Emblem series has been around for a long time, you'd have to be living under a rock to not know about it. Heck, even Super Smash Bros. fans are probably familiar with it, as it includes over eight FE fighters in its roster. If you were curious about this franchise or want a nostalgic comeback, you can play the original that started it all (at least internationally): Fire Emblem.

Fire Emblem, also known as Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, immerses you in a strategic adventure across the nation of Lycia. As corruption spreads, you're tasked with outsmarting the enemy on the battlefield. The complex challenge of each fight and the rewarding victories that follow make it a game that's hard to put down. It may just convince you to explore the rest of the series, like Fire Emblem Engage and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

Metroid Fusion

Metroid Fusion cover art

With the upcoming release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, it's the perfect time to jump into this action-adventure franchise. Metroid Fusion, in particular, is a beloved entry amongst the Game Boy Advance community thanks to its riveting story, challenging foes, and a mass amount of handy upgrades. We also can't forget about the mighty Samus, the series' long-running main protagonist who's made quite a name for herself in the gaming world.

You'll have to use Samus' strength to take down the X Parasite, known as "SA-X." The terrifying threat of this being almost makes Metroid feel like a horror game, especially with the ominous sounds of its approaching footsteps.

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Yoshi's Island Super Mario Advance 3 cover art

Although I do love playing as Mario, there's something unique about the playstyle of his companions. Yoshi is undoubtedly one of my favorites, using the abilities of his eggs, tongue, and the flight of his Flutter Jump. You'll see these skills in action in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, the GBA remake of Super Mario 2: Yoshi's Island.

Instead of the typical Princess Peach rescue mission, Mario and his friends need Yoshi's help to defeat the great Kamek. Most of the cast takes on a new baby form, including Baby Mario and Baby Bowser. They are just plain adorable in this iteration, and the cuteness factor gets even better with the many color variations of Yoshis.

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

If you love the platformer escapades of Mario, you'll certainly enjoy Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. You'll take on the role of not one, not two, not three, but four different variants of Kirby. Using the mobile phone, you and your friends can work together online or locally to restore Dream Land to its former glory.

I've always loved how OP Kirby feels in light of his copy ability, which inherits other beings' skills by inhaling them. It gives enemies a taste of their own medicine while also providing a diverse array of combat strategies.

Golden Sun

Like Fire Emblem, Golden Sun is another classic RPG from the Nintendo collection that first took shape on the Game Boy Advance. While the Lost Age is widely known as the best game in the franchise, it's crucial to start with the original GS to understand the story completely. Not only will you go deeper into its expansive lore, but you'll also feel powerful with the magic of Psynergy, wielding the elemental abilities.

The Djinn system, a unique feature of Golden Sun, is the true highlight of the game. These entities, which you collect throughout your journey, can be used to enhance your Psynergy. Each Djinn has its own elemental affinity, and experimenting with their different classes proves entertaining.

As you set sail onto the oceans of Fisch, you'll discover many peculiar islands that harness majestic fish. While some locations are easy to uncover, others won't be as out in the open. So, if you're looking for the mysterious Harvester's Spike, here's where to find it in Fisch.

Where to find Harvester's Spike in Fisch

The Harvester's Spike is known for its Sawfish and Bluefin Tuna fishing spots, often associated with Angler Quests. The island is also a part of the Brick Rod questline, providing you with the game's most legendary rod. To find Harvester's Spike in Fisch, go to the left of Roslit Bay around coordinates -1297, 228, 1568. Follow its marker when out in the ocean by using any boat.

If you're coming from the home base of Moosewood, take a left while facing the lighthouse. It shouldn't take long to see the island's gigantic spike. Approach it to gain some XP from a new island discovery. You may also be lucky to trigger Sawfish and Bluefin Tuna areas with your Fish Radar. Fishing poles like the Mythical Rod make it easier to catch these critters. They may be relatively tricky to get, so make sure to have enough rod resilience for a more accessible fishing experience.

The Brick Rod quest utilizes Harvester's Spike as the base for the NPC Minish. Use the Sundial and Smokescreen Totems to produce a foggy night in the summer, which is the only time the Minish appears. This character will provide hints regarding how to get the Brick Rod, including setting your spawn point to Desolate Deep and finding three Bricks. You'll likely be returning to Harvester's Spike a lot to unlock each hint, making it even more crucial to remember its location on the map.

It's important to note that the Totems for this quest come with a hefty price tag, ranging from C$2,000 to 500,000. To ensure you have enough funds, consider catching the Bluefin Tuna or Sawfish near the spike for more cash.

The most iconic Sims games are finally making a comeback, with the re-release of two fan-favorites https://www.destructoid.com/the-most-iconic-sims-games-are-finally-making-a-comeback-with-the-re-release-of-two-fan-favorites/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-most-iconic-sims-games-are-finally-making-a-comeback-with-the-re-release-of-two-fan-favorites https://www.destructoid.com/the-most-iconic-sims-games-are-finally-making-a-comeback-with-the-re-release-of-two-fan-favorites/#respond Fri, 31 Jan 2025 17:36:48 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1004697 The Sims 25 cover art

The Sims' 25th anniversary has brought in all the nostalgia as the beloved Sims 1 and Sims 2 make their epic return to the EA shop. Rumors regarding their re-release have been floating around for quite some time, and now Simmers can finally rejoice with the official announcement.

Experience the delightful retro-ness of the original that started it all in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle. The pack also comes with one of the most highly-regarded Sims games of all time: Sims 2. It's the perfect chance to reminisce about the good old days of the franchise, back when there used to be burglars and drivable cars. It feels a bit strange for me to miss having robbers in the game, yet I just can't help but look forward to their return, even if I am frightened by their alarming theme.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQUMkHngWjA&t=1s

Apart from the Birthday Bundle, you can live your best virtual life in the Legacy Collection, featuring individual bundles for Sims 1 and 2. For The Sims: Legacy Collection, bonus content such as Hot Date, Superstar, and House Party will be included. The Hot Date expansion pack, particularly, was one of the most monumental add-ons in Sims history, allowing players to finally visit other lots in the world. It seems like a small feat compared to how complex Sims 4 is now, but it all had to start somewhere, right?

The Sims 2: Legacy Collection has a few expansion packs of its own, with hits such as Seasons, Open for Business, Nightlife, University, and Pets. Items from these add-ons are still being talked about to this day, especially with the drivable cars introduced in Nightlife. I'm hoping this re-release could open the door for cars in Sims 4, which only has vehicles put up for decorations and not for driving purposes.

The OG re-releases aren't even the end of the 25th Anniversary celebration. A 25-hour livestream is on its way for Feb. 4, kicking off many Sims events. There's a lot to anticipate in the Sim-verse, and you can already get your hands on the Sims 1 and 2 re-releases on Jan. 31. Get a blast of the past with the new bundles, and get ready for the upcoming debuts of the 25th Anniversary.

The early stages of Hello Kitty Island Adventure restrict you from certain features, whether it be with swimming or fast travel. For this guide, we'll show you how to unlock the Mailbox, opening the door to a plethora of fast travel points around the map.

How do you unlock the Mailbox in Hello Kitty Island Adventure?

When you approach the Mailboxes in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, a notification will pop up, hinting that 'Someone must know how to use this...' That someone is Kuromi, a key character who will guide you through her quest: Delivery Service. You'll unlock this mission after powering up the gate to Spooky Swamp.

Kuromi will ask you to activate the Mailbox near her, triggering a quest to deliver a Pumpkin to My Melody. You won't be able to use the fast travel yet, so you'll have to do it the old-fashioned way by walking over to My Melody.

As you progress, you'll encounter Cinnamoroll, who plays a crucial role in unlocking the fast travel system. Now, you can use the Mailbox outside of My Melody's store to instantly transport yourself to the Spooky Swamp. Complete the rest of the Delivery Service quest by giving Kuromi the Coastal Potted Plant (you'll receive this from Cinnamoroll).

All Hello Kitty Island Adventure Mailbox locations

You must activate the Mailboxes first to use fast travel points across the map. This step requires you to explore Hello Kitty Island Adventure's world as much as possible, which will take quite a while. But if you don't want to go through the hassle of finding every Mailbox, we'll break down each map to help you discover them all.

Reaching Gemstone Mountain can be tricky since the entrance is pretty hidden. You can either wait until you unlock the 'A Zipline Adventure' quest or climb up there through the northern side of the Spooky Swamp. Additionally, the Ice Peak fast travel point (top-right corner icon) will only unlock after completing A Challenging Rescue mission.

Ice Peak

Only one Mailbox can be found at Ice Peak, which is at the very top of the mountain. You'll reach this area during the A Challenging Rescue quest.

Merry Meadow

Upon completing the Stargazing quest, you'll be up in the skies of Cloud Island. You must use Cloud Rides here to reach various islands, which requires you to conquer other missions stationed there.

City Town

You must complete the Ship Shape and Into the Fog quests to access City Town. It'll probably take you a while to reach this point, as you'll need to reach Friendship Level 7 with Badtz-maru, Keroppi, Kuromi, Chococat, and Cinnamoroll.

More fast travel points may be included if a new region is added to an update. City Town is the most recent one, derived from Hello Kitty Island Adventure 2.0. Therefore, we'll have to see what new adventures await, especially with the game's Nintendo Switch and PC debut.

When you first step into the waters of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you can't swim around freely. That's because you won't have the necessary gear, which is where the handy Flippers come in. Find out how to get Flippers in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

How to unlock Flippers in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To unlock Flippers, you must complete the Power Up the Gate and Finding Flippers quests. You'll first encounter the Power Up the Gate mission as you go through the Hello Kitty Island Adventure main storyline (it's pretty early on). Then, you'll trigger the Finding Flippers quest for the swimming feature.

Power Up the Gate mission guide

For a brief overview of how to complete Power Up the Gate in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, here's what you need to do:

  1. Speak to Chococat to begin the quest
  2. Build the Power Crystal Sensor

    • Requires 3 Sticks: Look around trees on the island
    • Requires 3 Magnets: Provide gifts to Badz-maru, Tuxedosam, and Pochacco

  3. Use the sensor to guide you to a door near Plaza Gate
  4. Ask Chococat to help you open the door by standing on the two panels
  5. Solve the puzzle inside (simply grab a cube and move it over to another panel)
  6. Repeat the process of finding another door and solving a puzzle for the second Yellow Power Crystal
  7. Go to the broken bridge on the northern side of the map
  8. Speak to My Melody and give her two Strawberry Crates (the crates are pretty much everywhere on the island)
  9. Return to the bridge and fix the gate

Construct the Power Crystal Sensor plans, requiring three sticks and three magnets. Fortunately, it'll be relatively easy to find, as sticks are everywhere. The magnets will also be given to you after you provide some friends with gifts.

Badz-maru, Tuxedosam, and Pochacco are the ones who have the magnets, so make sure to get their Friendship rank to at least Level 2. You'll most likely be given items to help you with this, so it shouldn't take too long to complete. Once you make the sensor, the Compass Tool will lead you to a mysterious door. You must participate in two simple puzzles to find the Yellow Power Crystals (just follow the guide to make navigation more accessible). The last one will mandate you to fix a bridge with My Melody, bringing you to a small island with the third crystal.

Finding Flippers mission guide

With all three Yellow Power Crystals, cross over to the new area to discover the frog Keroppi. Take a left turn to find a ladder, then climb up to reach Keroppi. He'll give you the plans to craft the Flippers and one set of Fins when speaking to him.

All that's left is the Strap, found inside a chest to the left of Keroppi. You'll then have the resources needed for the recipe, allowing you to craft it at the table near Chococat.

Once you've crafted the Flippers, a whole new world opens up. You can finally swim around the island, reaching those far-away destinations. The only thing holding you back is the inability to go underwater, preventing you from missions like Hangyodon's Welcome Gift. But don't worry, we've got you covered.

How to go underwater in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

You can unlock underwater swimming by acquiring the Snorkel, which involves Kuromi's Level 6 Deep Diving quest. Kuromi will give you the crafting recipe, requiring 10 Rubbers, two Sparks, and two Ingots. Rubber will be the easiest to acquire since it's scattered around the Seaside Resort. Then, you can move on to the Ingots, crafted with Iron from Mount Hothead.

For the Spark, you must unlock the Spark Crafting Plans from Pochacco's Level 4 Friendship quest. Chococat and Kuromi will help you with this recipe, providing you with the plans and Light Stone resources. If you need tips for finding these ingredients, check out our Snorkel guide for an in-depth explainer. After you've collected these materials, it's time to craft the Snorkel, permitting you to tackle those underwater missions in Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

How to reach and beat the boss in Black Ops 6 The Tomb https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-reach-and-beat-the-boss-in-black-ops-6-the-tomb/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-reach-and-beat-the-boss-in-black-ops-6-the-tomb https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-reach-and-beat-the-boss-in-black-ops-6-the-tomb/#respond Thu, 30 Jan 2025 04:37:39 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1003557 Gate to Tomb final boss

Upon reaching the end of the Tomb's Main Quest, you'll go toe to toe with the final boss, known as the "Sentinel Artifact." We'll show you how to defeat this enemy in BO6 Zombies, including how to start it and what preparations you need to make.

How to start the final boss fight in BO6 The Tomb

To unlock the final boss fight in BO6 Zombies The Tomb, you must acquire and upgrade the Ice Staff. Then, you'll need to use this Elemental Staff to complete four trials with the Amalgam, Parasite, Doppelghast, and Vermin statues. If you need help with these objectives, check out our complete guide on the Tomb Main Quest. Once you've obtained the Ice Staff and completed the statue challenges, head to the broken bridge at Dark Aether Nexus to start the final boss fight.

Interact with the pedestal there, which will fix the bridge. Cross it, and you'll notice a mirror-like object in the center. You'll see an option to 'Start the Final Encounter.' But, before you begin this venture, it's crucial to make some preparations first.

Best weapons and abilities to use for Tomb boss

You can use a few weapons in the Sentinel Artifact fight, including the GPMG-7 LMG or ASG-89 Shotgun. It's also a good idea to use the Ice Staff, which you should already have from the previous Main Quest objectives.

Wileding the Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

Now that I've spent some time in this showdown, I believe it's best not to bring in the Mustang and Sally build. As much as I love this dual weapon, I learned it does not damage the Sentinel Artifact. It can only be damaged with bullet-based weapons, so anything with explosives won't do you good here.

As for other preparations, here's a few things you need to have:

  • Weapons at Pack a Punch Level 3 and Legendary rarity (mandatory)
  • All Perk Colas (mandatory)
  • 3 Plated Armor (mandatory)
  • Aether Shroud (mandatory)
  • Mutant Injection
  • Free Fire GobbleGum
  • Perkaholic GobbleGum
  • Decoy Grenades

Without the mandatory upgrades or items, the fight will be brutal, and you may go down in no time. The other upgrades, like GobbleGums and Mutant Injection, aren't all that necessary, but they are nice to have. For example, you can use Perkaholic to reclaim your perks after a revive or use Free Fire when shooting at the boss. You can still get by without them, so don't stress if you don't have these gums.

How to defeat the final boss in BO6 The Tomb

For a quick overview of what to expect during this final showdown, here's a breakdown of each phase:

  • Phase 1: Sentinel Artifact will be immune in its red/orange state. Wait until its blue or purple to attack it.
  • Phase 2: Boss will split into multiple pieces and unleash wide-ranged attacks.
  • Phase 3: A Sentinel Artifact piece will latch onto a glowing red zombie. Eliminate this foe quickly, forcing the Sentinel Artifact to come out of it. Shoot at this artifact (avoid the others).
  • Phase 4: Boss will now latch onto Elite Zombies like Doppelghasts and Shock Mimics. Bring them down to get the Sentinel Artifact out.
  • Phase 5: Hordes of Elite Zombies will appear, including another one that will be glowing red.
  • Phase 6: All artifacts will line up and direct light beams on a wall. Focus your attention on the wall and shoot at the Sentinel Artifact there.

Once you've begun the battle, the Sentinel Artifact will be immune to your attacks while in an orange/red-colored state. Don't waste your time shooting at it; focus more on the zombies for now.

Sentinel Artifact immune state

Avoid the boss' beam attack as it circles around the battlefield. Take cover near the pillars on the ground, where the boss won't be able to hit you. Use the Elemental Staff's Ice Storm to eliminate hordes of zombies instantly.

Pillars in the Dark Aether Nexus
Screenshot by Destructoid

Wait until the Sentinel Artifact glows purple/blue to deal damage to it. You won't have much time here, and you must unleash as many bullets as you can to get its health bar down. This is where Aether Shroud comes into play, hiding you from zombies temporarily. You can also use the Free Fire GobbleGum for maximum ammo.

Sentinel Artifact shooting a beam
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Sentinel Artifact will go back and forth with its immune and vulnerable forms throughout the match. The enemy will also split into multiple parts, unleashing more beam attacks. Repeat the process of taking cover at the pillars and striking the artifact when it's in its purple/blue state.

By the mid-point, you'll have to eliminate glowing red zombies. The Sentinel Artifact will be hiding inside them, so you must try to get it out. Once you do, spray a ton of bullets onto it. You'll need to repeat this step a few more times, as the boss will continue to latch itself onto a specific zombie or an Elite Zombie.

Keep your distance from the glowing red zombies, as they can bring you down. You'll have to eliminate them quickly, or the zombies will respawn. Eventually, the Sentinel Artifacts will shoot multiple beams of light against the wall.

Shoot the artifact on the wall to conclude the Tomb's final boss battle in BO6 Zombies. Now, you can finally take a breather and watch the exclusive cutscene. Ensure to claim your mission rewards, including the X91 Ice-Pike Weapon, 5,000 XP, and Tomb Calling Card.

How to fix ‘failed to join because of different version’ error in Black Ops 6 https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-join-because-of-different-version-error-in-black-ops-6/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-fix-failed-to-join-because-of-different-version-error-in-black-ops-6 https://www.destructoid.com/how-to-fix-failed-to-join-because-of-different-version-error-in-black-ops-6/#respond Wed, 29 Jan 2025 22:52:39 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1003602 BO6 Season 2 cover

Any time a new season drops in Call of Duty, there are bound to be a few hiccups as more players tune in for the update. In particular, you may have encountered the 'failed to join because of different version' error. Here are a few solutions to this problem.

BO6 'join failed because you are on a different version' error solutions

The BO6 'different version' error appears whenever you're trying to join a party. Standard fixes like restarting your game or installing a new patch don't seem to address it, but fortunately, players have discovered a few workarounds with these methods:

  • Join a 'Recent Players' lobby and connect with your friend from the other player's lobby
  • Clear 'Reserved Space' data (Xbox users)
  • Join a random party, exit out of it, and then join your friend's party
  • All parties must restart their game

Reddit user notoxicity discovered a fix that requires you to join a recent player's lobby. You can find the 'Recent Players' hub in the Social tab and choose anyone active. Then, join your friend in this lobby to bypass the Black Ops 6 'different version' error. You can also join a random person's lobby and exit out of it immediately after if the first route doesn't work.

Social tab in CoD HQ

Player RussselVVilson also found another solution that involves clearing your Xbox game data. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to 'Manage Game & Add Ons' on your game file
  2. Select 'Saved Data'
  3. Select 'Reserved Space'
  4. Choose 'Clear Reserved Space'

Clearing the Reserved Data on your console could help refresh it, allowing you to join lobbies shortly after. Alternatively, you and your friends can restart the game together. If you restart your game alone, it doesn't seem to do much. But when everyone does it, things could go more in your favor.

Hopefully, one of the solutions above will help you fix the Black Ops 6 'failed to join because of a different version' error. They'll at least bypass it for now until the developers install a new patch. The Call of Duty Updates Twitter/X has indicated that a fix will arrive shortly. However, I have noticed that this bug tends to come up a lot during launches, so you can use these solutions if it ever happens again. You can also check out our fixes for the Dev Error 5820 and Packet Burst issues, which appear frequently for many CoD users.

The adorable Mobs have been getting some love in Minecraft with the latest lineup of variants. Each new form changes the look of their classic designs, bringing more variety to the majestic Overworld.

If you want a sneak peek into the new variants, here's what you need to know about the Minecraft cow update.

What's new in the Minecraft cow update?

The official Minecraft page confirms four new features on Java Edition's Snapshot iteration. Once you've downloaded the latest patch, you can expect these changes:

  • 2 New cow variants
  • Firefly Bush
  • New desert sounds
  • Bush greenery

In addition to the original mob, two new cow variants can be found in warm and cold environments. Now, you'll see cows with various brown-colored coats roaming around in their corresponding biomes. I've also noticed that these forms have a much more distinct set of horns than the first iteration. However, unlike the Goat Mob, you can't use these horns as a resource.

To get a glimpse of the new cow variants in Minecraft, let's dive into their designs:

Cold biome cow

Warm biome cow

You'll still see the original cow, with the classic black and white colors, around the map. But, if you travel to biomes like Jungle or Snowy Taiga, the new variants will likely take over these areas. Stick around long enough to discover the Firefly Bushes in the night. Although you can't catch the fireflies in this greenery, you can acquire the bush block to light up your Minecraft house. It'll also be helpful when exploring the Overworld, illuminating your path in dark areas like the swamp.

There's also a new bush block in green-based destinations, including forests, plains, and windswept hills. Their design is akin to grass blocks but with slightly more leaves. Those who want to use the new bush can take advantage of bone meal for faster growth. The good news is that it's pretty easy to get bone meals from skeleton kills, so you'll undoubtedly have more than enough resources for your builds.

Ambient desert sounds are one of the final features of the Minecraft cow update, making you feel like you're venturing around the barren lands of the dunes. Listen closely to hear crickets inside dead bushes or the gentle breeze of the wind. You can even place these ambient sounds inside your home by adding a dead bush on two sandblocks.

Experience all the latest features of this update in the Minecraft Launcher. Bedrock Beta and Preview users can try this out soon once Mojang Studios polishes the update for consoles. You can also check out the new dog variants to see other unique forms within the game, showcasing many designs across the biomes.

Best Black Ops Cypher 091 build in Black Ops 6 https://www.destructoid.com/best-black-ops-cypher-091-build-in-black-ops-6/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=best-black-ops-cypher-091-build-in-black-ops-6 https://www.destructoid.com/best-black-ops-cypher-091-build-in-black-ops-6/#respond Wed, 29 Jan 2025 16:52:09 +0000 https://www.destructoid.com/?p=1003465 Cypher 091 in BO6

Since Black Ops 6's debut, the Assault Rifle class has expanded substantially, giving you many more choices in this balanced collection. Season 2 brought in another classic AR with the arrival of the Cypher 091. However, its base version isn't anything to write home about, especially with its recoil control.

We're here to show you how to improve its performance with the best Cypher 091 build in BO6.

What is the best build for the Cypher 091 in BO6?

You can unlock the Cypher 091 through the Black Ops 6 Season 2 Battle Pass, specifically on Page 8. Equip the following attachments to establish a much more suitable build:

  • Muzzle: Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I/Extended Mag 2
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  • With Gunfighter Wildcard equipped:

    • Stock: Balanced Stock
    • Fire Mods: Recoil Springs
    • Optic: Merlin Mini

Since the Cypher 091's recoil control is a bit wonky, you can attach the Vertical Foregrip and Compensator to compensate for that. The next thing you want to do is give it more firepower using the Reinforced Barrel. You'll gain better damage range and bullet velocity, which helps with this assault rifle's slow fire rate.

You can then enhance the Cypher 091's speed with the Ergonomic Grip, making it feel like an SMG. Placing more ammunition on this build is also essential, as the standard version only includes a 30-mag size. It's up to you on which one you prefer, depending on how many rounds you want in battle. The Extended Mag I bumps it up to a 45-mag size, while the second tier gives you 60 at the cost of mobility. There's not necessarily a wrong choice here, but each has advantages and disadvantages.

Best Cypher 091 build

Fortunately, the Cypher 091 is already exceptional with mobility and handling, so there isn't a dire need to improve these stats. But if you still want to maximize this build, you can equip the Gunfighter Wildcard to place even more attachments. Use the Balanced Stock and Recoil Springs for additional speed and recoil control. Lastly, you can utilize the Merlin Mini Optic to get a clearer picture of the enemy.

This Cypher 091 build is your key to dominating Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, earning you more unique camo skins. And it's not just limited to multiplayer. This build is equally effective in other modes like Warzone and Zombies, making it a versatile and well-rounded choice for any situation.

Black Ops 6 Season 2 introduces a new Main Quest for Zombies mode with the deadly Tomb map. Compared to the other maps, it's not as time-consuming, but it does involve a few intense challenges.

To help you with this feat, here's a walkthrough of the BO6 Zombies The Tomb Main Quest.

How to complete The Tomb Main Quest in Black Ops 6 Zombies

To complete the Tomb Main Quest, you must conquer the following objectives in this order:

  1. Obtain the Ice Staff
  2. Upgrade the Ice Staff
  3. Complete the Vermin, Parasite, Doppelghast, and Amalgam statue challenges
  4. Defeat the Sentinel Artifact boss

Each task brings its own sets of challenges, where you must come prepared with Pack a Punch, high rarity weapons, and Perk Colas. The Tomb map also demands a ton of Essence, so use any GobbleGums to save some money. With the proper preparations, it's time to tackle these steps in BO6 Zombies.

How to unlock Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies

Unlike Zombies Origins, you won't have to look for staff pieces inside dirt piles. This time, you'll obtain them by defeating the Shock Mimic at Round 8 and completing the bull and hunter mural puzzles. You'll unlock these items for the Ice Staff build:

While the Monocle is easy to acquire, the Head Piece and Staff present the more challenging objective. You'll find these paintings near the Deadshot Daquiri and Death Perception machines. The goal here is to face the purple lanterns toward the bull and hunter puzzles to produce glowing Roman numerals. Sometimes, the lanterns won't be in the right place, but you can shoot them and wait a minute or two to get them closer to the painting (continue to shoot them if it doesn't happen the first time).

Shoot the Roman numerals in order to begin an enclosed zombie battle. The showdown includes standard undead enemies and Special Zombies, where it'll be crucial to use weapons like the Mustang and Sally. You can also follow the orb to see where the next batch of foes will spawn next. Make sure not to step out of the purple circle, too, just in case it stops your progress. Then, once it flashes white, you can pick up the Head Piece or Staff for the Ice Staff.

Repeat the process to claim the last piece for the Ice Staff. Now, go to the Dark Aether Nexus (the Crazy Place) to place all staff pieces inside the stone structure at the center.

You must defend the Ice Staff for a few minutes until it's finally time to grab it. It'll be quite difficult to survive here due to the tremendous amount of undead hordes. I like using the Idle Eyes GobbleGum here whenever things get too tough. In return, you can acquire the Ice Staff to freeze zombies for quicker eliminations.

Those who need a refresher on Roman numerals can use this table as a guide:

How to upgrade Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies

To upgrade the Ice Staff in Black Ops 6 Zombies, you must freeze three purple lanterns in 10 seconds and complete the soul-farming challenge. I'll provide a quick overview of what must be done here, but if you want something more in-depth, check our Ice Staff upgrade guide.

First, you must set yourself up with the purple lanterns by getting the Stamin-Up perk. You only have 10 seconds to shoot the three lights (there's a lot on this map), so you want to establish a nice and easy route. I find it best to use the route starting from D4 to F4 coordinates. The lights on this path seem to be the closest together, which works perfectly for the 10-second requirement.

Best lantern route for Ice Staff upgrade

If a light is too far away, shoot it to move it to a more noticeable area. I suggest practicing a test run first to plan it out better. When you're ready, hit the three lanterns with the Ice Staff, and the NPC Archibald will commend you on your success.

Travel to the Dark Aether Nexus and hit rocks with symbols on them using the Ice Staff. The Ice Staff lowers the rock to make the symbols easier to see. However, be warned: the shape of the icons is a bit hard to see. So, if you aren't sure what to make of them, take a picture or write down the symbols to help you out later on.

Rocks with symbols in BO6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

Return to the Dig Site and shoot these symbols on one of the doors. Go through the now-opened portal and interact with the orb directly in front of you. Now, you can begin the soul-farming challenge by killing zombies and following the orb. By the end of it, you can claim the Ice Staff upgrade.

All Vermin, Parasite, Amalgam, and Doppelghast statue Tomb locations

The Ice Staff upgrade provides a Healing Orb, which you can trigger with this weapon's Sekhmet's Vigor. Press the left-directional button to change the Ice Staff to Sekhmet's Vigor. You must use it to heal energy on Vermin, Parasite, Doppelghast, and Amalgam statues. Each location features similar challenges to one another, where you must complete the following steps (Doppelghast and Parasite will have a unique challenge, which I'll go further into):

  1. Use the Healing Orb on the Vermin, Parasite, Doppelghast, or Amalgam statue
  2. Pick up the glowing energy from the statue
  3. Go to an identical statue in another area
  4. Place the energy in the corresponding statue
  5. Begin a one-minute-long lockdown challenge by defeating zombies with the illuminated circle
  6. Grab the energy from the statue after completing the challenge
  7. Return to the original statue and place the energy down

Every time you begin the lockdown, you will encounter enemies based on the statue you interacted with. So, if you used the Vermin one, you'd end up fighting hordes of Vermin. For the Doppelghast, you must kill a single HVT zombie. It'll sometimes transform into an immune state, connecting to another zombie. Get rid of this zombie to wear off the HVT's protection.

The Parasite statue mandates you to eliminate enemies of the same name, dropping purple orbs. Pick up the orbs and take them to the statue. Keep passing on the orbs until a white light flashes. From my experience, you cannot use the Mustang and Sally build. I discovered that this weapon's explosions will make the orbs disappear, resulting in a loss for this challenge (you can do it again if this happens). Instead, I like to use the Ice Staff's Ice Storm to take out a whole bunch of them.

The exact location for the statues is scattered around the Tomb, so I'll divide them to give you a better picture.

Achieving the four lockdown challenges will give you access to the Sentinel Artifact boss fight. Like Citadelle des Morts, this enemy will be difficult to deal with, just as you would expect in the final stage of a Zombies Main Quest.

How to defeat the Sentinel Artifact boss in The Tomb

Once you place the last energy down on the statue, the broken bridge to the Sentinel Artifact will now be fixed. You may have encountered this area earlier, where Archibald talks about the ancient artifact. Enter the new destination and interact with the Sentinel Artifact to start The Tomb Final Encounter.

Entrance to Tomb final boss fight
Screenshot by Destructoid

The final boss fight for the Tomb is considered to be the most difficult yet. Therefore, you must deck yourself out with anything you can. This includes Pack a Punch Level 3, Legendary rarity, and most Perk Colas. For better defense, upgrade your armor to three plates. If you're feeling adventurous, get the Golden Armor Plates for even more protection.

Weapons like the GPMG-7 LMG  or ASG-89 Shotgun work well with the final boss fight. However, you can go in with something else if it suits your playstyle more. I also suggest having anything that gets the zombies' attention away from you, such as Aether Shroud, Idle Eyes, and Decoy Grenades. You may want to bring the Free Fire and Perkaholic GobbleGums, too, for a more accessible experience. The Perkaholic, in particular, will help you if you're downed during the fight, giving you back your perks with a revive.

Once ready, jump into the battle, where you'll experience the following phases:

  • Phase 1: The Sentinel Artifact will go above you while hordes of zombies spawn, unleashing a spinning attack. Wait until it appears blue/purple to inflict damage on it.
  • Phase 2: Artifact splits apart and deals considerable damage with more circulating attacks.
  • Phase 3: Artifact will now attach itself to a glowing orange/red zombie. Defeat them to get the artifact out of it. Then, start shooting it again once it's out.
  • Phase 4: Eliminate a group of Elite Zombies and target the glowing red zombie.
  • Phase 5: The boss will go inside the wall, but it should be easy enough to hit.

Survive through these phases to trigger the exclusive BO6 Zombies The Tomb cutscene. You'll receive the X91 Ice-Pike Weapon, 5,000 XP, and a unique Calling Card.

If you played Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you'll likely remember the elite Golden Armor Plates. It's the one thing that allows you to regenerate your armor, giving you more protection. Now, it's back again with BO6 Zombies' The Tomb, and we're here to show you how to get it.

How to get Golden Armor Plates in Black Ops 6 Zombies

You can unlock the Golden Armor Plates by locating two head statues and completing the Blood Sacrifice challenges. Conquering a feat such as this will be extremely challenging, so preparing yourself with Pack a Punch, high-rarity weapons, and Perk Colas is crucial.

Golden Armor Plate head statue locations

Follow the Main Quest objectives and unlock the doors to the Dark Aether Nexus. The first head statue will be inside a crate near Juggernog (G4 coordinates). Punch the crate and press 'Interact' to grab the first piece.

Go to the other side to find a crate to the left of the green doorway (D5 coordinates).

Punch the crate once more to uncover yet another head statue for the Golden Armor Plates.

Use the blue doorway to return to the Dig Site. Here, you'll see two headless statues, which you can interact with to place the items you found earlier. If you approach the statues, you'll see an option to 'Start Blood Sacrifice.' But before you press start, it's essential to know what to expect in this fight.

How to complete Blood Sacrifice challenges in BO6 Zombies

You can prepare for the BO6 Zombies' Blood Sacrifice challenge by using Pack a Punch Level 3 and Legendary Rarity weapons. Although you can get by with lower-quality guns, it'll prove much more difficult if you don't have them at this rank. You can also use the Ice Staff upgrade or a specific scorestreak to help you more with this challenge. However, it can be tricky to choose a scorestreak, as several players (including myself) have learned that it doesn't help with damage. The Sentry Gun may be the most beneficial, but you can see what works best for you.

Start for the Blood Sacrifice in BO6 Zombies

Those who are downed during the Blood Sacrifice will immediately lose the challenge. Fortunately, you can do it again in the next round if you're feeling lucky.

Where to find Golden Armor Plates in BO6 Zombies

Complete the two Blood Sacrifices to unlock the Golden Armor Plates Wall Buy. It'll be on the right side of the bull statue at the Dig Site. It shouldn't cost you a thing, so there is no need to exchange any Essence.

Now that you've unlocked BO6 Zombies' Golden Armor Plates Easter Egg, your armor will regenerate automatically. It'll come in handy in the later rounds, which can be even more challenging when you dig deeper inside the Tomb.

The mighty Ice Staff has returned in Black Ops 6 Zombies, allowing you to wield its wondrous icey powers. Similar to Liberty Falls and Terminus, the quest to get it requires you to discover various pieces inside The Tomb. Find out how to get the Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies.

How to unlock Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies

To get the Staff of Ice in Black Ops 6 Zombies' The Tomb, you can craft it with the three quest items or obtain it from the Mystery Box. The latter option is entirely up to chance due to the randomness of the box, but you may be lucky enough to get it with a few tries. I somehow got it on my first attempt, so it's not entirely impossible. But, if this option takes too long, you can get the following items to craft the Ice Staff:

  • Monocle
  • Head Piece
  • Staff

Finding each item requires the completion of a specific objective, and I'll break down each of them to help you through this quest.

How to get Monocle in BO6 Zombies The Tomb

Monocle Ice Staff piece
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Monocle is the most straightforward piece to acquire for the Ice Staff since it appears pretty early in the match. Wait until Round 8 to trigger a battle with a Shock Mimic. Target the glowing spot on its head to eliminate it quickly, and the Monocle will drop from its body.

How to get Head Piece and Staff in BO6 Zombies The Tomb

Starting the hunter puzzle challenge
Screenshot by Destructoid

You can get the Head Piece and Staff by completing the bull and hunter painting puzzle. Go to the coordinates D5 and D3 to find them, and wait for a purple light to appear next to the murals. If the light is not near the mural, I recommend shooting it to get it closer to the painting. Wait for a few seconds/minutes until the light reappears, and repeat this step if it's not in the right place. Once it's next to the painting, Roman numerals will appear inside it, indicating that the puzzle is ready.

Shoot the Roman numerals in order until it forms a constellation. A flash of light will appear, forcing you to battle with the undead and Elite Zombies. Do your best to survive this showdown with the Mustang and Sally build (or any preferred weapon) and Perk Colas. After you've defeated enough zombies, the white light will reappear, and you can pick up either the Head Piece or Staff near the painting.

Bull painting solution
Screenshot by Destructoid

Repeat this process of shooting the Roman numerals and defeating the undead again to claim both pieces for the BO6 Zombies Ice Staff. If you still need help with this step, check out our painting puzzle solutions guide.

How to craft Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies

First, enter the Dark Aether Nexus, aka the Crazy Place 2.0 (the same place as the Pack a Punch machine). Go to the center and interact with the structure there to place down the three pieces.

Ice Staff crafting area
Screenshot by Destructoid

Once again, it'll result in yet another intense battle, where you must defend the Ice Staff for a few minutes. It's a brutal fight, but I found using the Idle Eyes GobbleGum extremely helpful. This ability temporarily allows you to be invisible to zombies, which at least gets them off your back. But, if you don't have this GobbleGum, make sure to have a Pack a Punch weapon. JuggerNog and Quick Revive Perk Colas are good, too, as they will benefit your health.

Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

After successfully protecting the staff for a few minutes, you can finally claim the Ice Staff for the BO6 Zombies Main Quest. I'll have to see what events will transpire from it and update this guide when I get more information. Or, you can see how long you last with the Staff of Ice, freezing zombies for more XP.

How to upgrade Ice Staff in BO6 Zombies

You can upgrade the Ice Staff to Ull's Arrow, which has a much better damage rate than its base version. It'll function similarly to Zombies' Origins, creating blizzards to eliminate the undead. Here's a brief overview of the steps you need to take:

  1. Hit three purple lanterns in 10 seconds (I will show you the best order to do this step)
  2. Go to the Dark Aether Nexus
  3. Shoot three rocks with a purple glow and note down their symbols
  4. Exit out of the Dark Aether Nexus and locate the door with the same symbols
  5. Shoot the three symbols in any order on the door
  6. Enter the portal
  7. Interact with the orb
  8. Start the zombie soul farming challenge
  9. Follow the orb and eliminate zombies to farm enough souls
  10. Wait until the orb circles around to the stone structure where you first picked up the Ice Staff
  11. Obtain Ull's Arrow

Knocking out the steps above is easier said than done. I'll go into detail on each one to get closer to the BO6 Zombies Ice Staff upgrade.

Best lantern order for Ice Staff

The Tomb map holds many lanterns that you can hit for fiery kills. You'll have plenty of them for the Ice Staff upgrade, but I recommend hitting them in a particular order for the 10-second requirement. I also suggest getting the Stamin-Up perk to quicken your movement. Reddit user VillixEdits discovered the best lantern order using this route:

  1. Lantern at D4 coordinates in the same room as Deadshot Daquiri (above the doorway)
  2. Lantern at E4 coordinates in the same room as Stamin-Up
  3. Lantern at F4 coordinates, across from Quick Revive

Here's the exact route you should follow:

Best lantern route for Ice Staff upgrade
Screenshot by Destructoid

This route is the quickest one, based on my own experience, but you'll need to set yourself up first. Similar to what you've done for the murals, you must shoot the lanterns until they are in a more accessible area. Let's break them down to show you what to look for:

D4 coordinates Lantern (First)

E4 coordinates Lantern (Second)

Second lantern near yellow doorway

F4 coordinates Lantern (Third)

Third lantern in Quick Revive room

You can try this process again if you go over the 10-second mark. To restart it, you can save and quit to return to the match again. Saving and quitting seems to be the only way to reignite the flames after you've hit it with the Ice Staff. You may also need to trigger the next round if you fail to do so again (I had to do this several times). Those who successfully hit the three lanterns on time will produce a dialogue with Archibald.

Ice Staff rock symbol combination

After you've spoken to Archibald, he'll tell you to go to the Dark Aether Nexus. Go inside and look for three glowing rocks above. They're pretty hard to spot, but you can use your Ice Staff to lower them and reveal a randomized symbol. There isn't an exact location for their rocks, as it'll be different for each match. The best thing you can do is hit rocks with your Ice Staff a few times to see if any move down.

Rocks with symbols in BO6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

Note down the symbols by taking a screenshot or drawing them yourself. When you've hit all three rocks, Archibald will speak to you again, and one of the doorways will now be locked. Exit the Dark Aether Nexus and go to the opposite side of this door in the Dig Site area. You should find a door with symbols on the other side.

Door with symbols in BO6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

Shoot the same three symbols you noted down with your Ice Staff. Then, enter through this same doorway to begin the final Staff of Ice upgrade step.

How to unlock Ull's Arrow in BO6 Zombies

When stepping through the portal, you'll transport yourself onto a rock. Interact with the orb and follow it to farm zombie kills. You must be as close to the orb as possible. I noticed the challenge can fail when you aren't near it, restarting the quest.

Following the Orb in Dark Aether Nexus
Screenshot by Destructoid

If you fail the zombie farming challenge, go outside the Dig Site and shoot the same three symbols again. The door may be different, so just circle around the Dig Site to find another one with symbols on it. Repeat the same process of farming those kills again, and it should lead you to the stone structure where you obtained the Ice Staff. Now, you can finally reap the rewards of Ull's Arrow and use it to clear out the BO6 Zombies Main Quest.

Those who venture to the formidable Tomb will discover many treasures across the map. In particular, you may have encountered a Monocle, a mysterious item that can help turn the tide in the zombie fight. Here's what to do with the Monocle in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

How to get and use Monocle in BO6 Zombies The Tomb

You can find the Monocle after you've unlocked the Dark Aether Nexus, a place that will be marked in the Main Quest guide for Pack a Punch. It'll require a significant amount of Essence, so try to rack in as much cash as possible. By Round 8, you must defeat a Shock Mimic to claim the Monocle for the Ice Staff Easter Egg. Ensure to target the glowing spot on its head for a quick takedown.

Shock Mimic in Bo6 Zombies
Screenshot by Destructoid

The Monocle is one of three pieces for the Elemental Staff of Ice, which has the power to freeze and kill zombies. Locate the Head Piece and Staff to complete the build with the Monocle. You must find the bull and hunter murals at the D5 and D3 coordinates for this.

Roman numerals will appear on it when a purple light is near the murals. If you don't see this, you'll likely need to shoot the light to get its location closer to the painting. Then, shoot the Roman numerals to trigger a zombie-fighting challenge. Survive this brutal round long enough to unlock the Head Piece or Staff. Remember, this step must be done twice with the bull and hunter murals, allowing you to get all items for the Ice Staff.

Lastly, return to the Dark Aether Nexus and place the Ice Staff Monocle, Head Piece, and Staff in the stone structure at its center. Guard it for a few minutes to acquire the Elemental Staff. Since it's a pretty tough experience, you can check out our complete Ice Staff guide to learn any more tricks about it.

The Staff of Ice will undoubtedly be helpful for BO6 Zombies' Main Quest and later rounds. However, you should be careful in the Tomb's enclosed space since you can trap yourself. Frozen zombies from the Ice Staff can also cause more trouble, as they can block your way sometimes. When in doubt, use the open area of the Dig Site to reduce the risk of being trapped or downed.
